Searched the forums, but didn't see what I was looking for. Currently we are using medisoft for billing and accounting. Soon, as everyone likely knows, there are great new regulations that take effect forcing us to upgrade our software to continue to do what we where doing before (5010).

Anyway, we would have to upgrade to a new version of medisoft plus some hardware upgrades I really don't want to do if we stick with medisoft. There are a lot of accounting issues we have in our system, and there are good reasons for us to switch to another system.

I have been using AC for a couple of years now, and apparently it interfaces with EZ claims. My questions are pretty much: is anyone out there using ONLY amazing charts and EZclaims? How well does it work? Can we get by switching entirely to ezclaims and no other PM software? We have scheduling options, I just want to make sure that the systems work together as advertised and with minimal headaches. I already hate medisoft, we hardly use its advanced features for aging etc and I would welcome a simpler solution for essentially a two doctor practice.

(the best part is that we could apparently keep our same clearinghouse, so don't worry about clearinghouse issues with a swap)

I have been using EZ claims for the last 4 years. I remember that it took us few weeks to set this up correctly but it has been working well for me after that. Interface works without any problems. In the end of the day I export my bills from AC and then using EZ claims import wizard all this info is imported to EZ claims, pointers and modifiers are added later. Claims are send through EZ claims clearinghouse. Most of the reports comes back electronically directly to EZ claims.
