Are you going to go back and sweep all the Meaningless Use topics into this forum? It would keep MU from contaminating the rest of the forum.

Besides, they are all meaningless anyway. I could just make them all global announcements are paid attention to.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have global announcements automatically send an email notification to all who have email notification on. That could be turned off in preferences. I have always wondered on Jon was always the first to know about changes there.

You could even make it where JB's edits automatically notified everyone overriding any preference. Just makes sense. Of course, it would also make sense for the ACUB's admin to have that same overriding power.

I am actually serious about the global announcements. It took me a while to figure I could look at the announcement and add it to my watch list.

As long as you don't get attacked by any more bats, I'm all for getting an email of breaking AC news.

Things have been pretty quiet on the "global announcements" front, despite the fact that Jon B. knows that there is overwhelming support for regular news reports from AC.

I think simply:

"I hear you, we're working on it" would be helpful.

I know many want PM, but we the issues in 6.0.9, PM is kinda like being in Iraq (nothing political intended) while our economy is going down the tubes.

Luckily, like electronics, physicians and reimbursements are pretty much immune.

Before you go and delete everything Meaningless could I take your wonderful rant from the other day and post it in Your Name (Credit where Credit it Due...) over at the IMP side of things to show some of the folks over there that there are other small and solo folks who are not of the Lemming Mind Set blindly following a Herd over a cliff to our own funeral??? I meant to ask you that the other night and then it slipped my mind.

It "Amazes" me that so few members over there are not being more Individualistic and taking a stated stance against all of this Meaningless CCHIT... I love how you put it about "So were none of our Visits "Meaningful" before this garbage, and like suddenly they have been Magically transformed like they are....." Not a direct quote for sure but the point and juxiposition of it all is just awesome.... So all you docs Sucked and your visits were Worthless, Meaningless if and until this Magic Bullet came along???? BullCCHIT....

No less we can clearly see that vendors are falling all over themselves to get this CCHIT to market even as their products are suffering in the process.... I mean nobody is coming into any of the offices running AC and saying "Clearly this product is not ready for Prime Time and so you could be at risk of charting inappropriately...."

The poor thing is half stuck in the mud as you pointed out and yet as far as the Gov't Overlords are concerned, This is GREAT and it's worth Paying Us all Money for too!!! So my EMR worked better before the vendor made all of these insane changes just to help some of their customers kiss up to them, and now that it works less efficently, NOW we are "Certified" and worth paying us extra money.... You just CAN'T make this kind of CCHIT up, I swear.....

So the actual Quality of the finished product, be in functionality, software and code, no less actual doctor patient encounter and Doctor Practice efficency is NOT anywhere on this PIGS (the gov't not anybody here) radar screen what so ever.... As long as it can collect the minimun quanity and types of data and then you can report that data back to CMS, then You and your practice are suddenly Meaningful and just as importantly, Worthy of being paid more than the practices and doctors that are smart enough to resist and stick with their other more functional products because they actual care about their practice, their patients, their own sanity, and the Real Quality of the care and the encounter that they provide for their patients....

And for all of you who are not yet in the loop or who have not Found Out Yet what your Boards have done to you, lying in wait to pounce upon you the next time you try to re-up and remain "Certified" and prove that you are a doctor worth of the status of Diplomat you are going to be required to submit some of your Meaningless data to your Board as part of your Re-Cert Process!!!! How about them Apples????

This is the "New Norm" the "New Standard" at both the Ped's as well as the Family Practice side of things.... I do not know what it happening at any other specialties and their boards... But I would gather if this is already the new reality in most of primary care, then it would stand to reason that it is coming to a specialty near you too soon enough... So watch out, try to stop it now if you still can and don't say I didn't warn ya.... 'Cause I did...

What are you all doing to obtain screen shots for MU?
There is a tab for snap shots in AC 6.0, but it says it is under construction.

What snapshots do you need? The mu wizard under report calculates all of your core and menu items and generates reports. I know the medical gome wanted snapshots of things and ac had devoted resources to mu for more people. I do not see where you need any more.

I have a lady from one of these governmental agencies helping us achieve meaningful use. The snap shots are mentioned on the criteria.

TRANSFORM '0' NUMERATOR TO #s

As a break through in our session with Hitec-LA we managed to changed '0' to #s. This should be a good news for a lot of folks out there struggling so far.

Assuming you finished all the codified dx/clinical support etc and ready to sign-off, YOU NEED TO COMPLETE THE BILLING PART WITH CPT CODE AND DX, then click sign off. Run meaningful wizard report and the related #s will appear.

AC assume everyone is using the billing portion of the program automatically, therfore, CPT and proper Dx are used there to link to the encounters. Ac tech staff (didn't know?) and it was never mentioned so as the instruction in the wizard.

can one use a separate free standing e prescription program with AC and qualify for MU??

Thank you for your post. I think you have solved a major problem for those of us using the MU wizard. It is such an important piece of information that I posted your information in a new thread to get users' attention.

Wow, I went back and read a few of my posts above. Was I drinking? I don't think any of them made sense. Maybe they would have if not for the poor grammar, punctuation, all of the typos and sentence structure issues.

Or maybe it's just that two weeks from now, I will come back and read this post and forget why I wrote it, and it will sound just as silly, but only if I am rite mayb look with a few weird word issues.

And, yes, I do go back and reread old threads when I have finished all the new ones.

It is so funny that you mentioned that even as a joke. Last night I almost closed this thread. There are currently 14 active threads in the Meaningless Use Forum.

After creating the forum, I made one simple post to alert users that it existed. I should have locked it there, but wanted to get some feedback on the new forum. But, then users started actually using the thread to discuss MU.

But, you likely won't see me on any of the other threads.
