Is there anyway to remove a patient? One of ours was entered twice and I just see see me pulling the wrong one and then having encounters all over the place.

You can inactivate a patient but I don't believe they can be deleted.

You can also go in to the extra chart and edit the name so it will not come up in future searches(like put a ZZ in front of the last name).

we just change it to "DO NOT USE" two words in first name and one in last, vice versa, and mess around with it that way...

this also becomes an issue when you have the patietn as someone and then they change their name in phreesia! so it creates a new patietn...sucks!

You can't remove it, and all of these ideas are good ones, BUT it depends on whether you have charted in both or not.

I did the same thing, entered a patient twice. So I changed the name as above to do not use and then merged with the record with data. That inactivates the bad record. I guess you can directly inactivate it but the merge would be better if there were data in both records.

If no charting has been done, you can tell everyone in the office to MAKE SURE that lets say, Chart # 123 is a Double and the next NEW Patient to come in becomes 123.... So check this out...

When you enter your next new patient go to otherwise empty (other than demographics that is which is Changeable!!!!) and literally, Change the entire Name and all other demographics. AC will yell at you are you SURE you want to change the Name or something like this, just doing her job reminding you not to be a complete caffineless fool... Now save all of that new, appropriate to the actual real new patient you do want to have and enter... And there you have it... A Brand New "Re-Used" chart without the duplicate!!!

Ok hockeyref, that's the best way to do it. It gets rid of even the inactivated patient. Pretty simple, just change the name to that new patient and the extra is gone.

Paul's method works and I have done it on a limited basis. Most of the time I just inactivate and move on.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them

I was going to mention that, but I thought they were referring to two charts that already had medical data in it. smile
