I am a 3rd party IT tech for a local doctors office. They currently use amazing charts and IQ manager by Midmark for EKG. They are wanting to import the EKG results straight into Amazing charts instead of saving it as a PDF. Is this possible to do through the Midmark interface. If so could you give me some general steps on how to do this once we add the interface. Thanks in advanced.

Easy. Once you purchase the interface, or just try it on 30 day trial, you simply go to the Imported Items tab. You will Import->Midmark->ECG. Its all pretty self-explanatary once you get that far.

You cannot use the interface on a PC/laptop that actually had IQ Manager installed on it. IQ Manager doesn't fully uninstall and so will cause problems witht the AC interface. Midmark tech support can remove the leftover files for you. At least, this was how it was a couple of years ago when we first got it.

Awesome thanks for the reply. I don't think that will be an issue. They have a dedicated netbook for the IQ manager. Then they have one for each doctor with AC on them for them to carry to the patients rooms. Sounds easy enough to get to work.

you will need to download files to each dr's laptop to display the ekg on it. AC tech support can help you with this.

That's funny Wayne because we never activated the Spirometry interface, only the ECG because we just don't do that many spirometries but we certainly do enough ECG's.... So we DO have both programs running on Nancy's XP Tablet version of Pro old Gateway S7200c (M-285)...

So she runs the Spirometries in MidMark and the ECG's in AC saving both to the appropriate program's database.... and then I either back-up AC as always or if she has run a spirometry, then I back-up the MidMark database on the Gateway...

My One Nit to Pick with AC with the interface is that I wish that Jon kept the MidMark naming file system. Instead of having lots of 000000001's and 00000002's in everyone's imported items folders, in MidMark, each folder of each test session is saved by patient's name last and first, like test type, date and time.... There is NO mistaking or possibility of someone's tests first becoming "Orphaned". And if one day one has to use the data in another formate or wants to email the "car" files to another MidMark owning doc, again the file names are fool proof.

But we just activated the MidMark interface stuff on any Machine that we wanted to have AC be able to run a test on.... all while having the MidMark original Software on at least Nancy's older 2006 Gateway... They seem to live together just fine and we have had the I-Mark stuff since we opened in the Summer of 2004. If I remember correctly you purchased after we did like 2006 or '07 after we joined AC and met you.... Yes? So perhaps your MidMark disc's and software are of a different version than ours with different parameters and the like than ours..... Just thinking outloud here sort of...

Really? When we first got the EKG (we got the spirometry later) we definitely had this problem. Maybe some things have changed since then. But I had to actually get on the phone with Midmark tech support and have them remove the offending files and stuff. This was probably back in , oh, I'm not sure maybe 2006 or 7. they have had lots of updats since then.

Ya know what Wayne, Now I'm the moron here..... Nancy uses her OLD little Toshiba Convertable Tablet (Also an XP Tablet edition computer) from 2004 that she used Prior to AC.. We never put AC on that machine and intentionally don't use it very much because it is our "Archieve" copy of the old Program ChartWare for her first year of charting or so.... This computer is not like a totum in our office... Yet almost forgotten about as well... Almost never have to go to it...

Now I really wonder about running the two together on the same computer.... That is very interesting.... Now I'm straining to remember that perhaps this is the reason we stuck with the Old Toshiba for the 2nd tests anyway... Along with building one continues database of tests on one computer and all with the better named file system as well....

Any how, Nancy sends me little AC notes with the patient name attached to let me know if and when she ran one so I know to do a MidMark Back-Up.... Cool System... Oh, I had quite a scar the other day as I was so over done on 40 mgs of Predizone that I was out of breath from like a dozen stairs and sweating like a pig after helping my son simply tie his skates and do the first two sets of straps on his goalie pads... Ulcerative Colitis (and yes finally getting under control and tappering down, at 30 right now).... I was in a cold dry hockey rink where the other parents are wearing mid-weight jackets and I'm sweating Buckets, not feeling right in mind or body either... my T-Shirt's shoulders were Drenched from wiping my face on it....

So after practice just to calm us both down, Nancy and I went to the office and she hooked me up to the ECG.... Every few years we run one on me.... well even this "Pumped Up" and all out of wack.... my tracing was not just good or fine.... It was a perfect Identical overlay via the system's ability to do such. So NO changes in my heart health whatsoever in like 3 or 4 years even while stressed to the hilt thank goodness....

Cost a whole lot of bucks but this is the reason to own one and they certainly are the Right Machine to own for an EMR modest tech office like all of ours here.... Prices need to come down and incentives for these kinds of "additions" should be allowed and encouraged as well.... Without Meaningless Use, as this is Meaningful and Appropriate Use of Tech....

Sorry about the brain fart there...

I've grown to prefer the pure Midmark software. Had to use it when we were having some Pc problems that were ultimately solved by replacing our pcs. the PCs stopped letting AC load. Tech support made it worse. And there were other weird problems. Virus scanner said it was clean. but for awhile I had my personal laptop in , and uninstalled AC. Then we used it to run the Midmark.
