Why is the denominator always zero? Shouldn't that be the total number of Medicare patients? I've had v6 for over 2 weeks now and when I run the wizard, it looks like I haven't done anything to qualify for MU. Help or How to Run Report!!! Thanks

MU wizard in V6.09 is not working properly when runing certain reports. According to tech support this will be fixed in V6.10. Any news when 6.10 is coming out ?

I was hoping to use the wizard report to see what I need to do to qualify... :-(
What have you guys been doing to see if you're doing everything you need to to qualify?

You can use wizard to run most of the reports. I have difficulty to get credit for alternate CQM'S.

Dariusz. you have difficulty getting credit for the alternate CQM's because you're not doing it or because AC is not recognizing that you're doing it?
I'm doing 7 alternate CQM's, but i'm not sure how to let AC know i'm doing it to get credit for it. Can you help me with this issue?
I'm also doing the 3 core CQM's.
The only checks or pass i got were the BP measurement, tobacco use assessment, tobacco cessation intervention (which i don't know what i'm doing that gave me a check for this), and the weight.
Everything else is an X!!!

The wizard seems to work for most things other than the CQMs (though it seems to undercount the ERxs).I ended up using the report generating function to check that I met some of the CQMs. As I read the attestation instructions/requirements the expectation seems to be that the EHR generate the reports. Not specified that a "wizard" do all of it.

I follow instructions in the wizard for each measure required for MU and I do document this according to instructions. Seems that when I am runing report then report doesn't show that alternate CQM'S are done at all. I spoke to tech support and apparently this is bug which will be fixed in V6.10.

DallasCards, Do you populate any numbers for the core measures when you are runing report ? By default report goes back 90 days so if you just started, that can be why you are getting all the red marks. You can change starting date on the report to the date when you started working on MU and see if this is going to help.

Did tech support mention when V6.10 will be available, even in beta version? I see the same with my alternates - some are showing green check mark for success but no denominator or numerator to support it. Clock is ticking and some of us have less than 90 days now.

Soon for the full release... Based on the other posts I think beta V6.10 is available for testers already for some time.

Good point about generating the reports. This whole time I thought the "wizard" was suppose to generate the report and we submit the report to get the MU money. Can someone from AC verify this. Would hate to find out that we've been doing something wrong after 3 months and have to start over.

When you submit the info to Medicare, they do not ask for a file or any kind of an electronic report. You just answer their questions and fill in numerator and denominator numbers. You do have to attest that your numbers were generated by your EHR which is true whether the Wizard gives you the numbers or the report function does it. Took me about two hours to do it last weekend.

Responding to SantaBarbaraIM's previous post about undercounting eRxs, I have found this as well and wonder if anyone else is having this problem. There is a major issue with the eRx MU function. I have noticed that when you accept an electronically requested refill request, that prescription will be counted in the denominator, but not into the numerator. This is a major flaw...why would such a prescription not be counted in the numerator? If you "deny and rewrite" the prescription, you can work around this issue and the prescription will be counted in the numerator.

They found the flaw and it will be corrected in 6.0.10 which is in limited beta.

Thanks for the tip Steven. Is the beta version available for download? If not, this flaw could certainly impact our ability to achieve MU this year.

So you successfully attested with Medicare?!?!?! I am a bit confused on the required core CQMs and the alternate CQMs. It is my understanding that you are required to report on 6 total (combined core and alternate core). There is some sort of IF/THEN about if the denominator or numerator of the core CQM is zero. Could you clarify this for me?

6.0.10 is now released as a general beta available for anyone who subscribes to guardian angel support at: http://amazingcharts.com/support/i-want-to-help-myself/v6-beta/If you run the meaningful use wizard with everything checked (takes a while) then you can see how you are doing - you just need to read the wizard instructions for cores, menu items, etc and it will explain how to do it. I actually printed more items than needed and then when I was on the attestation page I trimmed some off.

How does the MU wizard know about the CQMs that you choose?. The CQM core items are in the wizard report but I don't see anything about the 3 additional CQM that are required. I am going to use: 1) influenza vaccination > 50 yr, 2) pneumonia vaccinations > 65, 3) LDL control in diabetics and 4) percentage of patents of lipid lowering therapy in pts with coronary heart disease. My lab is not merged into Amazing Charts and I have read somewhere that I need to codify the lab before AC will recognize the values. I seems to me there needs to be specific wizard for the the additional CQMs.

Just upgraded to the beta 6.0.10 because i thought the meaningful use wizard "run report" function was working. My numerator and denominator are still zero! Not sure what's going on.
For instance, core #1: computerized provider order entry for medications, have zero for numerator, denominator, and percentage, then a fat X for pass/fail. I've been doing all medications via eRx since the middle of August after v6 was available. Everything else is pretty much the same except for: 1. hypertension: blood pressure measurement 2. preventive care and screening measure - tobacco use assessment 3. preventive care and screening measure - tobacco cessation intervention 4. adult weight screening over 65 5. adult weight screening 18 to 64
Please help if you guys know how to get this to work. Thanks!

You need to ping guardian angel support on Monday - these numbers should work.
There was original error in ERx - was not counting all refills that were sent by pharmacy to you as ERX, also make sure you are sending to pharmacies that receive electronically - if you send to pharmacy with name in yellow it will show as faxed.
On main AC screen - choose 'E-Prescribing' and then 'Prescription Status' and it will bring up that days, you can change date and look at other days. They tell me that the ones that say other (which are pharmacy requested e refills). are being counted.
My labs are all codified but did not count as my lab provider did not provide a special code called a LOINC code with the labs to make them aware that they are 'MU' so ones which rely on labs with diagnosis do not work also.
Did you check all the boxes - some which are things like weight required special ICD 9 codes so you need to read each of the Core and Menu items to see what you have to do to fulfill - then pick a chart (even fake) and do all things required with HM and ICD 9 codes and run report for just this day - should give you numbers.

Also in regard to your meds - medications have to be codified (cannot show in italics) on scrips to count.

When you do get the report writer working and your numbers align I will say it took me about 20 minutes to sign up, attest and finish MU paperwork.

My version freezes every time I try to run a report. I can't print it, either (unless someone here can tell me how to 'print screen'). Is there a way to make it quit doing that? I have to reboot the computer everytime I run a report for MU!

Jill08 - To print screen on a Windows computer, just press the "pring screen" button (sometimes it's both "control -print screen"). This copies an image of what is on your screen to the clipboard. Then open Microsoft Paint or any other image processing program that you have, and paste the image from the clipboard. You should be able to print it from that application. Hope this helps.

What version of AC are you running - 6.0.9 has timeout error and you probably should upgrade to fix this.

EyeGuy~This does help, thank you! Steven~I am running 6.0.9, I realize it has a timeout error but am hesitant to upgrade until it's no longer a beta. This will just happen everytime?
