Reconcile doesn't work, I wouldn't waste your time. Just my humble opinion.

Having been at the table at ACUC 2011 that discussed Orders as a subject for improvements and enhancements, my understanding was that there is much to be fixed/improved, including reconciliation.
I have heard several work-arounds, but don't know any practice that does use reconciliation. Perhaps there is someone out there who does who can weigh in.

My office currently has a binder with a page for each date of service and labs ordered. As the labs come in, they are yellowed out as being "received". Just wish AC had a better system (and I had more computers).
Leslie has a great system with folders on a computer for tracking labs (if I remember correctly). It's posted on here somewhere

Sorry, Marty. It wasn't me. I do not track them other than to tell patients it is their responsibility to make sure they hear the results of any tests they have done. We do call almost everybody with results but, sometimes, we never get them. The patient then needs to call us so we can go looking for them

Reconciling labs with orders in AC is extremely labor intensive. I did it for a while and was unable to keep up with it. You would need a person to spend a good deal of time doing this. I had a part time employee who has now left who was mainly doing this and it required a good deal of training for that person to recognized the result that matched the order. I gave up. I think Leslie's method is the best. I hope the lawyers think so too.
