To qualify for meaningful use criteria: core number: 13 :
Currently AC summary for the visit pulls out all the old labs say from 2009, every item in problem list and every med prescribed etc..: generating 13 pages of info sometimes or more.
Seems a lot of info in that packet is irrelevant to current visit. If it is not provided to patient we do not pass this core.
How are you handling this?
Thanks.

So, because I have 0 score on my report for CCD for 6 weeks ( I have been handing out the summaries to patients like anything to get my score high, burning printer/ink/trees/electricity etc..)- on MU report builder in AC v 609 - I asked a friend with an eggcentric EMR how he is getting the incentive re: this CCD business.
He said he just gives like our own say 2 page handout. His vendor told him that 2 page document is good enough to get MU incentive and because the EMR got certified it means it passed for him to get MU money. And he documented converation somewhere (not in patients chart)putting some responsibility on the EMR vendor though ultimately it is the doctor who attests at CMS website taking full responsibility.
But in AC if CCD green box is not checked off, it did not pass that core 13 as I understand.
Got to go back to rules again.

I work around CCD issue like this:
After clicking print instructions button, instead of clicking print to default printer button, click preview button. Window will open to print instructions which you will want to do. Next window will open to print CCD which you can close without printing (I agree current formatting of CCDs is poor and embarrassing to hand to patients).
AC meaningful use tabulator does credit you for meeting MU criteria when you print instructions this way.

I agree - this will work. If you want to give patients more info on summary - check the allergies box, updated med list and whatever other information you want as a template.

Well, you must realize that MU was mainly used to force doctors to collect statistics that various gov't health agencies (Fed,State, local) wanted but did not want to pay to have to collect. This was used as a way to force doctors to do so for free. Also forces doctors to perform some tasks for essentially free. The short-term incentive seems expensive, but they "start the ball rolling" with it and just demand it continues.

I think I have found a bug in my system:
After I give the summary it is recorded in the patients chart. I can see -- OK --in the pts chart meaningful use green tab on right upper corner.
But when I run the report it is not showing there.
I re ran the tuner, no luck. I reinstalled AC and choose repair to see if it just a missing link.
Never found that missing link.
I have submitted a bug report.
Does anybody else have this bug?

Trying to be Dr. Watson the bug report continues:
I run the same period report under MediCAID and viola: it is catching all the clinical summaries.
But we are submitting under MediCARE.
Are the requirements different for Medicare and Medicaid?
I will let Jon B and team be the Sherlock Teames.
