Just a quick point to make:
1. WSUS is not included in Essentials because with so few computers on a network it is assumed the person doing the work will simply go to each computer and set the update settings manually via Control Panel.
2. WSUS does not have to take up so much disk space. You can set WSUS to approve updates and then have each computer on the network download the update themselves. The draw back is you may have as many as 30 computers all downloading the same update which can take some serious time - especially for service packs. Where you run into disk usage with WSUS is when you have WSUS download the update and store it locally on your server to them pass out to all the workstations.
