Has anybody arranged for a lab interface? Any words of wisdom? I have a psychiatric practice and don't do a lot of labs, but it is part of this MU buisness. Scanning was just fine with me, but evidently not with Uncle Sam. Thanks.

You have to deal with meaningful use?

At any rate, the lab interfaces are great for receiving labs. Typically, the lab company will pay your one-time $250 fee. Makes receiving the results nice and easy.

I wish they would set up a Quest interface that would send the lab requests (bi-direcitonal) in addtion to just receiving them. Then we'd only have to log onto one system--AC.

bi-directional interface would be great
it was briefly discussed at the last ACUC 2011 meeting - so i think they are working on it now
i hope soon though - it would make lab ordering much easier

AC charged QUEST $1500.00 for my interface. Where did you hear that it was only $250.00?

LABCORP refuses to provide my interface because it is too expensive.
