I think it need to be less expensive since OA is free and does very well. I would be enticed for convenience but only if <100.00 a month. No need to unnecessarily increase expenses unless it can save time for staff and makes it worth it. The other issue is Jon I am sure will be making some money off the 150 monthly fee which again increases the price of AC.

I doubt that Jon will be making anything off the clearing houses. The relationship will, in essence, be between you and the clearing houses. AC may be able to get a discount with them for you by providing them volume. The best thing about the proposed PM is that you can choose to use it or not. If you have something that is working for you now then stay with it.

Hello Everyone,

I know this may be a little off-topic, but I just wanted to recommend using the billing company our practice has been using for the past 10 years, Millennium Medical Billing INC. They are located in NJ and are a family-based company. They have been very helpful for our practice because they have recommended many new procedures for our office, and even set us up with a DME license. I highly recommend them as their rates are very competitive and are a very friendly company to deal with. Speak to Roxana Peeke, who is the CEO of the company. Her number is: 201-522-3205.

All the Best,

This is not the right place to recommend a billing service.

Ac says that it will be 150 dollars per month per provider. We are only charged if we use one of their integrated clearinghouses but the practice module is free.

If we are using officeally and it is integrated with AC, would there be a charge even though OA is free?

I don't think they are going to charge unless you do the integrated clearinghouse they provide - I am not sure if that means that they will actually fully integrate OA - I think full integration would mean that all the features he talked about including eligibility checking, electronic remittance, etc. I suspect that if OA is integrated it would only be that the program makes an output file compatible with OA. That being said I am just an observer and do not presume to speak for AC....

$150 seems a bit high to me. I am very much interested in the practice mgmt V7; but right now I pay $99 for sending UNLIMITED claims per month.

I notice alot of people (including me) are focusing on the $150/month. Just a reminder, sometimes there are legitmate "value-added" services which account for something being nearly "free" from one vender, while there is a charge, sometimes a large one, from another. That being said, sometimes there is not.

It seems that we should wait until November/December and see what the actual offering is before rushing to judgement and being naysayers. I admit that I myself am guilty, since I use Office Ally and pay about $10 per month (for claims that are automatically mailed to insurers who don't contract with them).
But perhaps there are benefits that I would value that are available from other clearinghouses.

I agree with you Wayne, for the most part and the guestimate monthly fee is not going to deter my interest. The possible additional streamlining of software, ability to verify insurances of patients prior to visits is EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL and time-saving in the long run. Using an EMR with a separate billing software is somewhat dysfunctional.

Maybe others know this but just in case, I just found out that Office Ally charges up to $20 a month for their Clearinghouse if you have greater than 50% billing from Medicare/Medicaid claims and it does not integrate with AC yet. But still, $20 a month is very good considering EZ Claim charges $99+ a month (but at least it integrates with AC already). We haven't tried either one yet but so I guess we'll ease into it by trying Office Ally and wait and see if Version 7? ever comes out with the PM in it. We may end up sticking with EZ Claim though because I agree that it is very dysfunctional (like in a Jerry-rigged kind of way) if everything does not fully integrate.
