That's what I thought...I'll hang on a bit before the upgrade. Actually, I usually hang on for a month even after the upgrade is out. Maybe not this time as the changes don't seem horrendously different except for the government crap that will not help my practice at all and has hindered AC more than we will ever know.

Its a beta. I'd been checking out 6.06 on a laptop, and knew of some of the major issues. The ones they listed as being left shouldn';t affect us. And we wanted to eRx to Medco and be able ot track the eRx.

What glitches has anybody found in this beta V 6.06? I am still on V5.17 and am wanting to move on to a newer version mostly because we are having problems attaching messages to the chart properly. This is an annoyance that is not a big deal...just annoying. I don't want to trade a minor annoyance for a bug that is a new surprise and/or is more difficult to deal with. Maybe that sounds like I am not in the mood to try a beta version.... What are the bugs in the V6? Anybody know?

I read the message on the link given in CJH's post above. That sounds pretty straight forward.....I think I'll jump up.

They made great strides in the speed department. The version for download is 6.0.9. I am currently using 6.0.8 and did not upgrade because it added some meaningful use changes that did not seem to apply and I will wait for the final version. '0.8 works well. Can't remember any specific bugs, I'm sure I have reported some, but nothing that gets in my way. Again, much less problems with the later version, I started with 6.0.4, overall not bad but verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slow on my pentium 4's for writing Rxs and presumtive icd lookup.

Batch Printing--
Does anyone else have a problem printing the "daily batch"?
In our office we print paper copies of all the day's records for filing in our paper charts.
In V6.09 the "daily batch" is all nicely queued up, but strangely the patient name at the top of every record is always the name of the first patient in the queue!
The daily billing forms all print out just fine.

I deployed V6.09 Sunday night - there does seem to be some increased latency however somedays i dont notice it. the Rx module rocks. some issues to work out but i accomplish in 2-4 clicks what used to take over 10.
the MU portion so far so good - the report feature will have to be tested ... is it getting the numerator and denominator right?
So far pleased - minimal staff disruption.

I noticed that when we print Rxs the Dr's licnese numbefr and dea does not print. Yes, the boxes are checked!
When I preview the Rx, they are there but at the top underneath the address, but they aren't on there at all when the Rx is printed.
Anyone else seen this.?

Order Reconciliation--As far as I can tell, no improvements were made in the order reconciliation so the Orders section is still of limited use.

Just upgraded to V6.09 last night. No problems with printing Rx with DEA or license #. Overall upgrade was very smooth with no glitches.

Check to see which format you are using for scrips - each format can be affected differently. It may be that the one Wayne is using is faulty - he needs to call AMAZING CHARTS and have them check that format.

I have a major problem over the weekend. And cannot successfully download version 6.0.9. And I am running XP all my main computer due to a requirement for my billing company. I need guardian support to help install this program and they're not be available over the weekend. I have left them a telephone message that this is a critical problem and I will be lost on Monday if I do not have amazing charts. I would think that due to some money people upgrading to new version that some accommodation would have been made for the first couple of weeks. I hope to hear from them before Monday. Art Lukoff

Unable to install 6.0.9, on our server 2008. Some error with the database. The install process failed at the database tuner stage. Carlos at Guardian Angle support could not get it to work also.
Carlos tried to revert us to 5.1.7, but unable to restore to our original state. We have a local backup and AC remote backup. After a few hours of uninstalls and reinstalls we are still stuck. Developer is to call this monday to try to get us up an running.
We have updated 4-5 times over the last few years and fortunately have never had a major issue with installs, until now.
We are out of luck until this gets resolved. Will be using paper tomorrow morning. At least I printed out the monday's schedule last friday.
You might not want to jump in yet if you are not prepared to deal with potential hiccoughs like this.

Installed 6.0.9 on my windows peer to peer network yesterday. No problems. Main machine running Windows 7 Pro SP1. 6 other computers running Win XP Home (sorry Bert) or Pro. It takes a LONG time for the install. Don't even think of doing this on a lunch hour! Of note the Star TSP prescription print issue seems to have been solved. THANKS!

I installed v6.0.9 yesterday (Saturday) on my server and all 6 of my workstations. Running XP Pro on all. Did not seem to have a problem nor did it take a long time (except for intalling on so many PCs). Tomorrow is the real test as we begin a full day of patient care with the new version. I'll post an update in a few days.

Art Lukoff You can't download it or can't install it? Not a major issue if you can't download, try from a different computer. Can't install - different issue. Yes, there will be a lot of people installing V6. Monday may be very busy for tech support. I always recommend playing with a new version to be comfortable with it before installing it in the office. Every one wants to get their money as quickly as possible, but remember, first do no harm. Make sure you are ready to move to V6 before going to upgrade. Upgrade all of your microsoft and any other updates first. BACK UP your databases before any update. Ideally, test your backup on a dummy computer (do a restore, make sure it works, then so you see how it goes, update THAT (nonlive) computer to v6 to see there are no issues). Then do the upgrade. Upgrade the primary computer first. Oh, turn of the virus protection before upgrading. It's also a good idea to restart the computer after an upgrade.

Only thing I would add is setting a restore point might be useful in the event that the upgrade failed.
Of course, I am professionally paranoid, so don't pay that much attention to my inclinations.

Using 6.0.9. The prescription writer is painfully slow and it is the only slow part of the program, which leads me to think that it is not my old Pentium XP computers that are the problem. It is like some debugging routine is turned on for just this section of the program.

Well, I spoke too soon yesterday. The Star TSP prescription printer issue is not solved. Since Amazing charts coverted to the "SAP crystal reports" in version 6, it seems that formatting has been broken. I can no longer print out scripts on the Star TSP printer. FOrmatting is all wrong. prescription takes up 3 pages, or I get error about "exception in file temp .... page header or footer is longer than a page" I am using prescription format TSP Version 1. I am having to hand write all prescriptions that I can't send electronically.

Upgraded to V6.0.9 over the weekend. Today everything ran smoothly except the rx writer. The Star tsp rx printer prints the prescriptions such that the wording is oddly placed. Only the brother and the 8 year old HP 1022 print correctly, the 3 HP 3640's print prescriptions that are the size of a large postage stamp. Called AC support but no return response today, they must be busy with the move. All my machines are dual core with win 7 professional. The rx writer is a tad slow but the delay is tolerable. Documenting "meaningful use" is time consuming esp when the patient presents with a minor complaint. Office staff agrees that overall it's pretty cool.

Guardian Angle got us up and running again with 5.1.7 after about 3 hours of work. No V6 for us until this install issue is fixed. Anyone with a successful server 2008 install out there?

I had downloaded V6 . It does not work on windows 7. I am hoping to revert back to the previous version. My whole work has been held up due to this. Hopefully this can be resolved.

Installed 6.09 beta in my office on 6 machines. 2 would not launch due to "registry errors", not addressed by running as administrator. Deleting old version including Amazing charts directory and reinstalling was successful.

6.0.9 beta: I really miss the ability to print prescription on the Star TSP800 printer. As I mentioned in a previous post, the formatting for printing prescriptions is all messed up in 6.0.9.
My most popular pharmacy is a military base who ironically has NO PLANS to move to electronic prescriptions as they are waiting on the Dept of Defense to adopt software that would be compliant...
Meanwhile I am starting to get cramps in my hands from all this manual hand writing of prescriptions... Help!

Ken, How about grabbing a quick, cheap printer from the closest chain store and some security paper off Amazon, and just going with that until your favorite is fixed? Your sanity is worth a couple hundred bucks...

David, You are brilliant. I happened to have some 8.5x11" security paper lying around and I have a printer in each room. I switched back to the default 4 on a page format. Thanks!

Glad to help, Ken.
We had been getting by with regular paper and the tiny security statement at the bottom until last week when all the pharmacists in town had a meeting with the DEA. That afternoon all doctors were instructed they had to use security paper, which of course we did not have. It's been a bit of a goat rope, but being fixed.
Medicine would be so easy if we just had to deal with sick people.
