I have a user here that is occasionally unable to save entries to the practice rolodex.
I have uninstalled, then reinstalled AC on her computer, and I can save entries. But then after awhile, she will complain to me that the data she inputs is not being saved to the database.
This is the process we are going through:

1.) From the main AC window, she clicks on View ---> Practice Rolodex
1.a) the Practice Rolodex window comes up
2.) She clicks on "Add New"
3.) She enters the appropriate data
4.) She clicks SAVE
5.) A window comes up and says "The provider was added to the database."
6.) Now, most times that works, and there is no problem. But sometimes it's not actually added to the database.
I've been able to add providers with no problem, it just seems to be her that has the problem. I've watched her put in the providers to ensure she's following the steps, and she is.
What ought I look at to resolve the issue?
Thanks for your time!

(Edit: Also I have added a specialty, but made a typo. How do I delete the specialty from the rolodex?)

What version are you using? This had been a problem in the past with some people but seemed to go away in the 5.1 era.

If you search the word rolodex you will find a lot of information. Try this link http://amazingcharts.com/ub/ubbthre...Rolodex/Search/true/Re_Rolodex#Post20771

As far as deleting the specialty, you can simply pull up the provider and change his information and save. That should correct the specialty mistakes.

I am still using V 5.17 and have had the exact same problem with entries not saving to the rolodex.
It does not happen every time and as far as I know, I am the only person in my office this happens to. I am also the only person working wireless. It may be related to the router...similar to a problem I once had with messages not being received. That problem was eventually assigned to a combination of the clocks on all the computers not matching and my computer being wireless.
My IT guy gets perturbed with me when I work wireless ( he has put hardwire cables in all the exam rooms) but I admit that I hate plugging and unplugging and also sometimes work at the lunch table where there is no hardwire connection.

I'm using 5.0.29. I was not aware there was an updated version. When I click on "check for new updates" it says I have the latest version. Is there some sort of secret ritual that I have to complete to get the newer versions? Or a person to bribe? laugh

Oh! Thanks. I was searching for "practice rolodex" I didn't even think to search for just "rolodex". Thanks I will go do this.

Yes, it's only one person here as well, but she is NOT wireless. I too dislike wireless, same as your IT guy. smile I will look into the clocks, but last time I checked, (which, admitedly, was some time ago) they were all syncing properly against the main server. But it doesn't hurt to double check, thanks for the tip.

Vision, not sure if it works for you, but for some people this is the solution.

Forgot to update - JBS's link is correct. This explains why it'd always work for me, but not for the one user that was encountering problems. I'd add a bunch of entries at once, and then verify that they were there, and pronounce it to be "working."
Whereas the user would add one, then look it up to make sure it was there, and add the second one, only to find it wasn't saved.
She knows now that if she looks up an entry, she needs to close and reopen the practice rolodex, and has not had any problem since.
Thanks!
