Does anyone have a source on an insurance company database? We keep re-entering the same data over and over.

Here's another area where a closed database would be helpful on Amazingcharts. I've been busy scrubbing insurance database (search and delete) as it seems my employees all suffer from dyslexia. (How many ways can you spell Medicaid or Blue Shield?)

I think we discussed the need for an insurance company database in a previous thread. Circumventing repetitive data entry is what databases do best, and it shouldn't be that hard to have one.

Alternatively, it would be nice if you could right-click in the insurance demographic fields and access templates of common insurance company data, but I have heard of practices with up to 200 third-party payors, so that could turn into a heckuva big template field.

sorry for bringing up an old topic, but i was wondering if there were any improvements for an insurers database of sorts, so that the dropdown would be selectable...

thanks!

I have looked, but have not figured out, how to clean up the list of insurances. I cannot find an insurance database. My receptionists (two over the 2 years I've used AC) have created a nightmare of multiple, mispelled or abbreviated choices for the same insurance companies. We REALLY don't have many companies to choose from here in Montana! So can anyone tell me where to go to clean it up?

I posted a reply but don't see where it went. Will try again. Can anyone tell me how to clean up the long list of mis-spelled insurance companies?

Well, actually you can, KIND OF.

What you have to do is run a search for all of the misspelled ones, like mediacad.

Then, you have to go to each individually and change mediacad to medicaid.

When you have changed all, you can probably just restart and it may be gone, but if you compress the database it should disappear. You might want to run the search again to make sure that you have eliminated it prior to compressing.

Then you have to do this for each misspelled word. That's why I said KIND of....
