I have just started e-prescribing. So far to the local pharmacies that I transmit too, it says in the inbox, prescription transmitted to pharmacy.

Now with mail order medco and express scripts, it is a different story. I cannot find them on the list I tried going into admin and selected medco, express scripts and added to the pharmacy list. Now I went back to a test patient and tried looking for them on the list and it is not there.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

Not sure, but after you have generated the rx's and are on the screen where the pharmacies are listed, by default the patient's zip code is placed in the line above where the pharmacies are listed. This line filters the pharmacies that are listed.

This causes only pharmacies in that zip code to be listed. If you remove the zip code, then all pharmacies are listed. You could then type medco in the appropriate place in that line and it should appear.

What version are you running?

Medco and Express scripts are both in 5.1.7 but not in earlier versions.

I know they weren't in 5.024. I thought they were in 5.029 (which I recently installed.)

I don't have 5029 to look at but I recall express scripts not being on there and medco on there as fax only, not eRX as it is in 5.1.7.

I talked to tech support today. 5.029 does not have mail order. I have to upgrade to the next 5 version(beta?) or go to 6(beta).
I don't understand why there is 2 beta versions being worked on right now.

@tvo7, I think they believe that V6 is "imminent" if they focus on it, so that's what they are doing. I think I read something that basically said that--maybe the newsletter, i'm not sure.

I have version 5.0.29 and I do use the mail order. I use the Newcrops screen and when I get to the last view of sending to pharmacy, I just hit ADD Pharm, search for MEDCO/CAREMARK/etc. Unfortunately it does not save it to the list but does enable me to use the mail order pharmacies.

I went inside new crops screen, add pharmacy, and added in the mail order pharmacies. I get to the screen where it has the button to transmit to pharmacy. I don't see it in there.
IS there another button for add pharmacy in the transmission screen?

I just received a request a refill request electronically from Medco! Anyone else?

Hopefully the wave of the future. If the mail order pharmacy managers like Medco would start using eRx, it would cut my faxes by half.
