Have been using Updox for 4 months and really like it. No more paper faxes/burned out fax machines/excessive toner use, etc. However, I get 4500 faxes per month and 1/4 to 1/3 are duplicates or when imported into ac as a single report sometimes shows up twice. As you can imagine this really wastes time and quickly fills up the patient's import box in AC. Updox claims the faxes ( sent from multiple sources) are being sent twice. The senders stamp the faxes with an date/time stamp and swear they are only sent once. My receptionist has imported a single fax only to find a duplicate (2)show up in AC. Any thoughts? Thanx, Aldo

We do not have this issue. Could it be something with your fax number or phone line, such as forwarding from your local number to the UpDox number and also sending directly? When we set up our system we had the local phone company forward incoming calls to our existing phone number to our UpDox 800 number, but did not give out the 800 number to anyone.

I am also a regular user of Updox, and we haven't been getting any unexplained duplicate faxes either. We do have a few pharmacies and home care agencies that are prone to repeat faxes, however.
If you have duplicate faxes with the same time stamp, suggest that you send these to Updox support and ask them to check their server at that time to see how many they received.

Aldo,
I had the issue of getting duplicate imports into Amazing Charts. I contacted Tobin with Updox and I had 2 Updox Connectors running on my system. There should only be one computer in your network that has this program running. I had it installed on two of my computers in the office and once I uninstalled it from one of the computers, I have not had the issue. As far as duplicate faxes, I have not had that issue. Hope that helps some. Overall, I've been very happy with Updox.

John, I was contacted by Updox and was told that upon investigation I am running 2 "connectors." I'll disable one tomorrow and track the duplicates. However, this occurred several weeks ago and a different computer was running a connector along with the server. I wonder if the staff is erroneously enabling a connector?!? Thanks, Aldo

Thanks, Aldo Aldo, only one computer in your office should have a copy of the connector, but that computer needs to be on all the time. Ours is on the server.

I was contacted by Updox and was told that upon investigation I am running 2 "connectors." Interesting. That is really a unique reason for getting 2 copies of everything you import into AC. I thought you were receiving 2 faxes of each document in the Updox Workspace. That wouldn't be explained by the two copies of AC connector.

John, "Connectors" were running on 2 different computers in the office, the server and the "lab" computers, for reasons unclear to me; perhaps enabled by the staff by accident. On Monday I made sure that only the server ran the connector. I also called the phone company and had them call forward the fax phone number directly to Updox (as recommended by someone on this post) Result: very few duplicates which I attribute to the fact that the hospital sends out a preliminary result then a final "signed" report. Thanks to all for your assistance! Aldo

That is because you run updox AC connector in 2 computers. Disable or uninstall AC connector if it is installed in more than 2 computers.
Thank you.
