Another Wish List item: Include Imported Items in the Search Function, using the "Item Subject".

I agree this would be very useful, but how would that work? Imported items are a mix of pdf's, Word files, and who knows what else. What search function could go through all of that?

I think he's suggesting the "Item Description" be the search term. If you label all the HbA1c's with "HbA1c" for example, you could search for that, possibly also with a date range. It may prove useful for some of the EHR incentive requirements, since some of us don't import most of our labs as yet as searchable.

Would that really help much? Wouldn't a spread sheet be much easier?
To expand on your example, how often do you get an A1c alone? At the very least you would probably get a glucose along with it, and likely lytes, and/or some form of metabolic panel. To use the search function, you would be forced to label the document as "HbA1c", ignoring the fact that you might later want to find other labs in it. Why not just leave the lab document as-is and take a minute to enter the value in an Excel spreadsheet?

What I am saying is that searching II's would be great, but without granular data it is of little value.
