Could those of you who are more knowledgable about the stimulus money and where we can go to place the applications etc. please respond about the process. I am kinda lost but would really like to get a better understanding and of coarse score some bucks if possible. THANKS

You need to be using the "sanctioned meaningful use version" which is AC 6.0 and it has not been officially released. It should be soon.

Do a search here for more details and get ready for the application process.

I also need to know where to go to start the application process.
Or, can I not do anything at all until AC-6 is released.
Wendel, when you wrote to 'do a search here' what did you mean?- the user board or what?

My s corp practice employees me and a nurse practitioner.
Does the practice register and get credit for two providers or does each provider register individually. This will be for the medicaid stimulus. Help understanding this would be appreciated.

Here is some info I found online guys. The site to start the application process is http://ehrincentives.cms.gov. You will need your npi log in info and can register here. We cannot attest until version 6 is released. All we need to do to get the first installment is register and attest that we have used version 6 for at least 3 months in our practice. After this then next year we must report and use the emr for 12 months. My understanding is that nps or pas must get their money through medicaid which requires some registration through the state but doctors can get the medicare money.

Let us please add info to this post and keep our colleagues up to date as the money is there. Finally there is some hope we will get a break. We all deserve to get back at least some of all those tax dollars we seemingly just give away. I will post everything I find out here in hopes that we can somehow, as a medical community, work together vs letting the business establishment separate us and take from us our greatest love... medicine. In the eyes of business, pt outcomes and safety is not even a question. All that matters to business is the bottom line. We must maintain the bottom line while at the same time protecting our fiduciary responsibility to pts. We must attempt to protect the nobility of medicine and our pledge to at all cost "do our pt's no harm." We are medicine and we must protect the greatest asset we all have. This can only be done with unity and team work.

Found out after searching for info about np and pa registration that there is a medicaid guide at the above listed website for cms. You must register with your state agency. Certain states have began the process and have paid out some money. Other states like mine have not began the registration process.
