Hi! We went live today and had a good, yet stressful day. A few things came up that I have been unable to find answers to in the tutorials or on here. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
1. can you delete an encounter or addendum (one added in error)?
2. Can you change the default look up for the preferred pharmacy to look up by State as opposed to Zip Code?
3. Can you print a referral for the patient that has the consult doc's info (address and phone) on it so patients have that info?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

1. No. This comes up all the time. Best you can do is add an addendum explaining the error and making sure you save it to the bottom of the erroneous encounter.
2. Not exactly sure what you mean, but the pharmacies will always default to the zip code on the demographics. If you choose a different once and check the box, that will stay as the deault. You can search by State or City if you like.
3. There would be three ways to do this, all sort of workarounds. When you set up the referral in the admin section, you could put the address in the comments section. This is nice, but takes up that initial space when you want your receptionist to have an idea of what the referral is for.
Secondly, when you set up the consultant, you could simply type:
Dr. John Smith, Orthopedics, 123 Cherry Lane, Baltimore, MD. etc. and it will show up that way. Probably the best way.
Thirdly, you could put the address directly in the comments when you pick the consultant, but the gives you problem number one, and you must remember the address. Not good.
Finally, you could choose Other and write down whatever consultant you wanted and write the demographics below. Then you could select Other for referral, right click and choose your consultant from the templates, and type in your referral request. Use the arrows at the bottom so it saves. This may be your best bet although it would mix the consultants with your labs, etc. that you had in those templates.

Thank you so very much, Bert! This is great information. I am sure we will be posting frequently for awhile.

When searching for a pharmacy the first thing I usually do is to delete the zip code because more often than not the pharmacy is not located in the patient's home zip code. I find that it is necessary only to type a few letters or numbers to find the pharmacy quickly. For example, in the pharmacy name section I type ri for Rite Aid or cv for CVS and then I type in the street address, say, 131 Main street and the pharmacy pops up quickly. It is more tedious to type in the name of the city and search through all of the listings.

I think it would be nice if you could choose how many numbers in the zip code. For instance, here 04412 limits you to Brewer where if we could get 044, it would show more pharmacies. Then ri would give you that list of Rite Aids in the area, and you would be all set.
I tend to ask them what pharmacy and then choose the zip as most are memorized. Or put the town, and it usually is there. This isn't true with a Boston or Las Vegas.

Bert, you can: just type 2 or 3 numbers of the zip and it will give you a longer list.
I would like to see the ability to search by phone number (since so many patients call in with that) but I actually like the ease and speed of the search function in eRx. You can use it like Ted with the first letters of the name, part of the zip, the town, or the street (without the number) if you know that. Pretty flexible.

Congrats Cells:
We look forward to plenty more questions. I wish I could list the pharmacies by just my state.

Bert, you can: just type 2 or 3 numbers of the zip and it will give you a longer list. Thanks Jon. I was wishing I could set it to default to 044 which gives me a 20 mile radius instead of 5. @Chris I think you are saying the same thing. You can search by just your state, but you can't set it up as the default.
