For those who did not get a chance to make suggestions, you may do so now. Given the large amount we already have (75), I cannot guarantee these will be considered along with those. However, as I stated before, there will be a few opportunities to add suggestions.
I have not decided what to do with these or if I will do a poll with them. This has been a lot of work. I do know that IF I am going to do a poll with them, short and concise suggestions will be favored. So, for example, rather than:
Please make it so that when you click on a note or order, one does not then come to a print preview page and then have to click again to get to a printer selection window,
you should write:
Please get rid of print preview and allow us to go straight to printer choices.

I think there should be a "Poll" tab in Amazing Charts so we can vote on new features.

I'm thinking a "PM Bert with suggestions" tab would be more effective.

Id like to see the Present Encounters Page divided such that the chart's LEFT side contins all the fields that ( a) stay constant (Family History, Social History, etc ) or (b) contain lists that are constantly updated and referred to (Medication List, Problems list, Intervention list).
The RIGHT side of the chart contains the components unique to each new encounter and that will change with each visit- Subj, Object, Asmnt, PLan & Meds .
Bert - you once mentioned SOAPware - this is also their basic layout and itis nicely structured
The layout looks something like this:
CHART LEFT SIDE...CHART RIGHT SIDE:
Problem List.............Subjective PMHx ROS.........................Objective Interventions SHx.........................Diagnosis FHx.........................Assessment Allergies..................Plan Current Meds list......Prescribed Medications

Bert,
I would love to see the med list cleaned up. It would be nice to have, on one site, the current med list, when each med was started (currently this date resets with each refill Rx), number dispensed, name of prescriber and number of refills allowed. I also like your idea to have short term Rx's, such as antibiotics, automatically inactivate, but be retained in another site for review when desired.

I would also like to be able to populate the physical exam from a previous encounter (not the entire old encounter)

@Jim
I have always liked the idea of being able to see both the active and inactive. It is difficult to switch back and forth. So, all too often, I will tell the patient, let's try Seroquel. "We did, and it made his hair turn blue." OK, Concerta. "We did and his shoes started on fire." After a bit, I think they find you incompetent. So your idea plus the inactive with reasons right next to them.
@Leslie Ummm nothing to say. Well, that's a first!
That referred to me.

Bert -
An alternative to storing the Seroquel and Concerta expereinces in the med list would be to store them in a new "Interventions" list field placed on the chart's left side. Here you can store not only med reactions, but also petinent lab studies - Thus preventing the similar scenerio of "Let's get an MRI for that headache " with the patient replying, "Don't you remember, we did that four months ago!"
(I've included such an "Interventions" field in my suggestion on dividing the chart (see above comment from 4:30)
Alternatively, such drug and lab experiences could also be filed and easily accessible by either liberalizing the usage of "Imported Items" or liberalizing "Tracked Values" (and adding a tab to easily access it in boht "Present Encounters" and also "Past Encounters")

I would love to be able to choose a dx by icd number. I use the same ones over and over. For me, it would be so much faster.

I know this has been mentioned before, but I didn't find it on this list. Store TWO pharmacies as favorites. Useful for mail order and local.

Why not have the ability to store as many favorites as you wish?

Make Amazing Charts windows resizable.
Windows stay in the screen position that they are placed, rather than opening on top of the prior window.
Please put the Message button back on the Import Items window.

Allow the AC window to have a scroll bar on the right. This way the whole AC content can display on screens with lower resolutions. Also perhaps add a view adjustment to change the size of the AC window to be larger or smaller

Similar to the above suggestion:
Consider having the encounter fields small - only one line, but allowing them to **expand** as they are filled (so, for example, the Family history field , if unremarkable, would occuly one or two lines, and not have blank spaces in the field around it; and ?Assessment, if long, will not need to be scrolled through - the whole field would be visible).
This change, similar to the suggestion above, would necessitate allowing one to scroll up and down the entire ?Present Encounters? page, (with a scroll bar on the right) but each field in the page would have its entire contents visible, and wojld also allow the option for larger, more readable fonts

Bruce,
Good ideas. Would you have some examples of known software that could be downloaded for free to see how your idea works.

Hi Bert-
I have another medical record program which does all those things, here on my office computer (and which could be made accessible via remote access to demonstrate) - I'll contact you shortly to discuss possibilities -

Date of last fill, quantity, and #refills showing on the medlist section. Hover function is ok, but would like the above available at a glance. Being able to print a medlist from the medication screen.

I would love to be able to choose a dx by icd number. I use the same ones over and over. For me, it would be so much faster. actually you can put the number in and click search and it will pop up the dx (i.e 558.9) I would like the ability to deprioritize and increase the priority of certain ICDs. Eczema 692.9 does not show up unless you put it in by number, even on the contains sort.

Have all tables in the Amazing Charts database in, at a minimum, Third Normal Form.

James, AC doesn't even want users to have access the database, much less are they going to change the database as a result of the conference.
