Does anyone use the Referrals tab under the Orders section? I have mostly used the Orders for lab orders. You can order the staff to do a referral or send follow up orders. I don't know if this is a bug or if I've just not figured it out yet: Under Admin Options click on Define Orders Go to Referrals Tab It says "your practice Rolodex contacts will appear in this list..." which you can supposedly use to do referral orders. I have a pretty extensive list of consultants in my Rolodex, but they do NOT appear in this list. I would not like to have to type them all in again. Can anyone check out this problem? Thanks

Mine are there. Make sure under "Category" in your Rolodex that "all" is checked

Are both Rolladex consultants and rolladex referrals boxes checked, and are the physicians listed as one or the other when you put them in your rolladex? It seems to work for me. Having said that, all it seems to do is send an order to the intended recipient Saying "ordered/advised - Smith, George (cardiology) ICD-9 414.0" Since I usually send a referral letter and chart note copy, this doesn't seem to be very helpful.

David I'm not sure where you are looking when you say both consultants and rolladex referrals. I was thinking of send that order to my secretary, who would then make the letter, print the note, and fax to save me some time.

If I do write orders -> referrals, my rolladex comes up in the bottom list. Right above that are 2 check boxes, "include Rolladex Consultants" and "include rolladex referrals". Probably both should be clicked, and make sure when you put them in the rolladex you listed them as one or the other. You could put in a brief comment like "Make appointment with the heart clinic and send notes" in the comments section.
