Can anyone tell me how to clear out the view orders list? An example is if I order a Chest XRay. We do not do XRay in the clinic so they have to go either to the imaging center or the local hospital to obtain. If you go to the view orders list, it is full of labs, XRays etc. When the nurse schedules a Mammo or Referral, she documents that the order is completed and it is then saved to the record. That is not the problem. The problem is that it takes so much time to document that each indiviual lab has been completed. If I order a CBC, CMP, TSH, and LIPID, each one of these has to be indiviually checked off as completed. The results will be imported from LAB Corp so I don't need to know that every patient that I ordered a CBC on today had it drawn. Does anyone else have this problem or am I just making it too complicated. Basically, I want to look at the order list each day and see it empty at the end of the day. It takes approximately 20 seconds per order to mark as completed to clear the list. Added up, that is a lot of valuable time to just clean up a work list.

Good question. Our view orders list has grown to infinite proportions.

The function of reconciling orders to results hasn't been "turned on" yet. This can only be done manually at the present time. The only way to clear out the orders is to manually reconcile them with results. I think I'm doing pretty well as I am up to july in reconciliation. We have always attempted to track results of testing that we order so we have a process for doing this with AC. Until the funtion is "turned on" it is a very tedious job and is the last thing on our "to do" list and gets done when things are slow in the office. Figure out who in your office hasn't got enough to do and put them to work cleaning out the orders.

you can hit CTRL O, and then all the orders will come up. you can sort some of it, but it is a pain in the [censored]! what i do for each patient is I print out the orders for the patient and i send the orders to my front desk person who then in turn uses updox to send the orders to a patient's chart as imported item...or you can print out the order, scan it and then upload it.
