I wish I could use just the physical portion of an old visit in my new encounter. I could do this with SoapWare. Most people's murmurs, or bruits or arthritic joints do not change from visit to visit. It would be nice to be able to pull all of this up from an encounter where it was all previously documented. Right now I can only choose to use the entire previous encounter which changes meds and assessments and plans.

I agree with Leslie. This is a big issue. We need a separate button to allow choice of previous exams without reverting back to old med lists.

What I commonly do is pull up that particular old visit under "past encounters," use the left mousee click-and-hold, then highlight the area I want to use, then <CTRL>-C, go back to my current visit, and then <CTRL>-V to paste it in.
It's not the elegant with that Leslie is wishing for, but it's a little work around that I use quite a lot.
But I like Leslie's idea for future upgrades.

I can visualize what you want. A pull down menu on the side, with a date and a brief (16char) view of that entry.
