I am looking at doing one day a week at a remote site and would like to know if anyone has had experience with how I could write notes in Amazing Charts and later that day synch them up with the main computer when I get back to my office. I remember some time ago reading that this was possible but can't seem to find anything on the user board now. Thanks

Two possiblities:
1. Install Amazing Charts (AC) on the mobile computer that will be taken off-site, using the install option: "This will not be the main computer but may be taken off site...". Then you can use the mobile computer's AC database, which will contain your practice's patient files, at the remote site. When you return to your main office, use Amazing Synchronizer program (located in the AC folder on the C drive)to sync the main & mobile databases. Do a backup of the main computer first...Amazing Synchronizer is considered "beta" software, and although it has worked fine for me, other users have reported data loss.
2. If you have broadband internet access at your remote site, you can work on your main computer's database in real time. A complete discussion of this option is here.

I have a second office. We just do a backup and take the program to the second office and then bring it all back to the main office the next day. I'm one doc, two offices. We tried using the synch function and it did not work well at all for us. Logmein is now or soon to be providing a VPN for between $200-300/year. We are currently looking into that.

It sounds like your current plan of bringing the database from one location to the other is the best way. You are correct in that the synchronizer is not perfect. It may be a slight inconvenience but is a very safe and guaranteed way to ensure no data loss.

Logmein VPN option sounds reasonably priced.
