I love that Amazing charts tracks the history of any medication in the medication list (ex: when sigs have changed).

However, I tested this feature out recently and it did not perform the way I was expecting.

We increased a patient's dose of Levoxyl from 50mcg to 75mcg. To do this, instead of inactivating the 50mcg, we selected it from the medication's list and changed it from 50mcg to 75mcg (selecting a new codified med from the med list). Hitting prescribe had the effect of replacing the 50mcg with 75mcg, but when clicking on Levoxyl 75mcg to get the "history" it did not show this dose increase.

My expectation would be that clicking "history" would show the date that Levoxyl was increased from 50mcg to 75mcg.

Does anybody else make use of this feature? Are we not using it properly?

Thanks!

- Sam

I generally don't choose a drug and change it. I just inactivate it and state the reason such as "Needed increase in dosage." But, even now when I do it your way, it doesn't overwrite it. It just stays there and the new drug is added.

As far as I can tell, if I have a medication such as Concerta 18 mg, only refilling it will allow it to become part of the history. Any dose which is different has its own history.

Bert,

I also inactivate the previous dose. The problem I am having with medication hx is duplicates. For ex, I will write and transmit an RX, it will not go so I have to redo it and fax it or the first time I print it it does not come out and I have to print it again. These result in duplicates and I cannot seem to get rid of them.

Just had a patient calling to know "when I was gong to send in a med". I had already sent it and went to check the date. Somehow, I accidentally hit the "remove" button, and by golly, once you remove it, it is gone. Doesn't even show up in the medication history. Any suggestions on how to retrieve?
