Still having trouble with this one.
Understand how all visits related to a surgical procedure or hospitalization would be on one "case", but don't really get it otherwise.

One of the rare times I can answer a tech question.

Cases in medisoft are totally arbitrary. It's only to help you or your staff etc organize the info. It is otherwise meaningless.

We use for each different hosp. admit, rehab stay, NH stay, or whenever someone changes insurances. In reality, it could ALL be placed under the same "case" and the outcome in billing and accounting would be the same.

Thank you so much!
That's what I suspected.

I find that it's most practical to stay within the same case when possible. I change cases when the patient has a new insurance policy, a new referral or a different provider rendering services. I don't have to change the "facility" often; however, if I did, that might be another situation in which I'd consider changing the case.
