So, I have started sending eRxs with great success. MUCH more reliable, so far, than the faxes. I just received my first two refill requests. I can't figure out how to make those requests go away p Rxing it in AC. Does it just go away eventually? I read Bert's post about clicking on the pt in New crop but that doesn't seem to accomplish anything for me. There is no ability for me to refill straight from New crop and no option to say that I already refilled it. What am I doing wrong?

Bill,
Although you can just check under the "Electronic Prescribing" tab, and then do the refills by opening AC's "Medications & Prescribing" window, here is my present method to check for & approve refill requests:
(From the Amazing Charts Wiki:)
Check several times daily to see if pharmacies have sent you refill requests: 1. Use the drop-down menu heading "Online Services", at the top of every main window of Amazing Charts. 2. Choose "Electronic Prescribing". 3. The NewCrop window opens showing the pharmacy renewal requests. You can't authorize the refills from this window, only check if any are pending.
To approve a refill request (and make the refill request disappear): 1. You must be logged on as the prescriber. Staff may not approve refill requests. 2. Enter the patient name in the Patient List search box at the left of the main AC window. (Use the method in the paragraph above to find which patients have refill requests pending). 3. Right click on the patient name, and choose "Medications & Prescribing". 4. In the window that opens, click on the "ePrescribing" drop-down menu item at the top left of this window, and click on "Manage via NewCrop Screens". 5. The NewCrop window opens, displaying the patient's med list. 6. At the top center of this window is a line "Pharm: , Fax: , Pend:". The "Pharm" is in red if prescription(s) are waiting to be approved. 7. Click on this line, and keep clicking on the patient's name in each subsequent window that opens until you reach a screen that asks you to fill in the number of refills. 8. When you click "Accept", you are done -- with this patient. The refill request for that patient disappears. 9. You repeat the process for each patient on the refill list.
Future versions of Amazing Charts are planning to include the ability to process refill requests within the "Medications & Prescribing" window .

John, Thanks for that. How do you handle electronic requests for controlled substances. Obviously you can't refill them this way but how do you get rid of the request. I just denied it then had the nurse call it in.
Also, I refilled a couple of meds s going into the "manage via newcrop" screen and now they seem to continue to sit there though I have refilled them. How do you delete those?
Thanks

How do you handle electronic requests for controlled substances. Obviously you can't refill them this way but how do you get rid of the request. I just denied it then had the nurse call it in. Two possibilities, other than what you stated above: 1. Just use the same method as the approval process, but deny the refill and fill in the reason as "Cannot refill controlled Rx. Fax refill request to (your Fax #)." The pharmacy will then send a fax refill request, and the request will go away. 2. Approve the refill. You will receive a faxed refill request from SureScripts, which you can sign and fax back. Also, I refilled a couple of meds going into the "manage via newcrop" screen and now they seem to continue to sit there though I have refilled them. How do you delete those? If you actually refilled them using the NewCrop screens, all the way to clicking the "Accept" button on the final window, I am perplexed, since this should erase the request for that patient. However, if you mean that you did the refill in the AC "Medications & Prescriptions" window, without opening the NewCrop screen, then go into NewCrop, and Deny the refill, choosing the reason from the dropdown list "Duplicate prescription".

Sorry about my poor explanation. You are right. What I meant to say was "without going into the 'manage via newcrop' screen". Those are great pointers thanks.

I follow your instructions. there is one place to click on the pts name but then there is no pharmacy in the box. I have multiple renewals and I am not able to renew any of them. Guardian angels have been entirely unhelpful. I don't think they know how to use it either. This has slowed me down to the point where I can hardly function in my office. I take back what I said about eRx. AC has implemented a new system without proper preparation. I am really frustrated at the moment in case you couldn't tell.

Bill, don't get too frustrated. It's difficult at first. If you can't figure it out with John, and it looks like you're close, let me know, and I will be happy to remote in and walk you through it.

John and Bert, Thanks for your willingness to help. Sorry I let my frustrations out on the users board. Refills via the "manage users via the new crop screen" lead me to a dead end. The pts are there. The requested refills are there. But when I try to refill them they just get moved into this "in process" limbo land. With the help of Paul at AC, I am just printing out the list of refill requests, going to each patient chart and refilling from there. Then I am going back into Newcrop and denying the refills c the reason as "duplicate". Slow workaround but it is working. Paul promises me that 5.1 will improve things as well as promote world peace, solve the Israeli palestine conflict and keep the Redsox from being eliminated from play off contention.
I learned something vital of which I was unaware and should share with those who are equally slow to catch on: If you R click on a med in AC in the Rx writer, then click codify, you have the option of codifying that med and dose for the entire practice. Phew!! I thought we were going to have to codify each med for each pt.

I am glad to hear this, since, even when the NewCrop works, its a very tedious workaround. (Now I'd be really excited to hear that 5.1 fixed the AC letter writer and let us customize the folders in the Imported Items, and keep them closed by default.)

It takes forever and when we're busy, it doesn't get done. Thank you!

Great tip.
Here is another curmudgeonly view. I NEVER use NewCropScreens, except to check whether a patient has been getting meds from multiple providers. It is simply way too difficult. Refill requests are ignored unless initiated by the patient.
