I had a great (sic) luncheon meeting looking at Physician order entry and meaningful use at my local hospital. The presenter was clicking his way through all types of pages and he summarized by saying, "It should take no more than an hour for the physician to enter his admit orders!" My thought was where is the AC response to this problem! Unbelievable. Anyone have any experience with this at your hospitals? If so, what system are you using and how long does it take to enter admit orders?

An hour, are they kidding! It takes me 30 seconds to pull up my own pre-templated admit sheet and fill it in with a few clicks. My hospital uses Cerner software.
I guess they really don't want physicians to admit to their hospital.
