Is it possible to use eprescribe to refill a request - without seeing the patient? How do we use AC to document this if there is no 'encounter' with the patient.

Open the medication window for the patient and choose the medication from thier list, prescribe it and then transmit to the pharmacy or print it. The refill will then be in the "history" of the medication that was refilled.
To look at a history for the medication, highlight it in the list and choose the history button, it will show you in sequence when the medication was prescribed , quantity and date.
There actually is an encounter....
We only refill medication after the patient or the pharmacy has contacted us requesting a refill. The request is recieved ( of course) by a staff member who then attaches a message to the patient's chart about the refill request. When I do the refill I save the message to the chart. The refill as written will then also show up in the message so that it can also be seen without opening the medication list.
