After I gave Adacel vaccine to a patient, I went to:
Health maintenance in the encounter screen, then to
HM: Immnuzations and Shots.
Selected Adacel from the list of vaccines and put in all the informations about Adacel and then click save.

I went back to the HM: Immunizations & Shots screen of the same patient and in the "Prior records of 'TdaP" box are these:

07/26/2010 7:23:12 pm Td (tetanus,diphtheria)
07/26/2010 7:23:12 pm TdaP

I gave Adacel (TdaP) but NOT Td.

Deleting either Td or TdaP in
Summary Sheet
'Complete' under Health maintenance and Injections
will delete both Td and TdaP.

Printing the shot records from this screen will show that both Td and Tdap were given. Scary if this record goes to other parties.

I don't know if this happens to anybody else. Any solution to this? And how do you get rid of that time of administration?
Other vaccines seem ok.

Thanks for your help.

I will run this by my MA, and see if she has seen it.

Luis,

Sounds like a bug, so you may want to email support or Jon @ amazingcharts.com. We tried to reproduce it.

We use some different software, so it doesn't happen, But, either way we do it, we always check the record to see what resulted. It sounds like you must do the same.

Luis,

I just upgrade to V5 today. Gave on Adacel and got the same double entry.

Also got the same double entry when I migrated the vaccine record on another patient.

Would be interest what tech support says.

I think Boostrix did it too.

Would be more interesting to see what Jon says.

Yes, Boostrix too.
Per your suggestion, I emailed this to AC as a bug report.

I noticed if you click on Brand name at the bottom, it will at least show only the one you intended. And, it ONLY prints that one.

Let us know what AC says.

Took me a couple of minutes to find the "show brand name" box at the bottom on the summary sheet tab and not in the health maintenance box. Also found the summary of all the vaccines that I was looking for. Thanks Bert for your help/input. Day 2 of upgrade to V5 and learning something new every day.

Bert

That's the remedy I was looking for. Thanks.
For now I'll just ignore the double entry in "prior records of 'TdaP'". I went from V4 to V5 last week, so now I can start using the Immunization screen.

The double entry doesn't seem to appear in other printable
screens ( that I know of) as long as "Show Brand Name" is checked.

What specialty are you Luis? Not too many doctors but pediatricians get frustrated over immunizations.

Good luck CPK with your upgrade. After almost seven years, I felt a bit lost when I made the transition. The migration and codifying kind of got me for a bit. I am lucky that I have an MA that is unbelievable, and I am able to take off my control freak jacket and delegate everything to her. She is all over the vaccines.

She is still frustrated about the OPV, though. I mean there was a Dr. Sabin, wasn't there? Still is in a lot of 3rd world nations.

Cool initials.

And, while we are all talking about it, do we really need the time on some of the vaccines and on the allergies. I know that what I look at and what Jon looks at are different things for a variety of reasons. I really think it's great that Jon is able to spend almost all of his time on the business and only a day or half day in practice. But, I bet it would be helpful for him to spend more time with patients just to use the product more.

Like how long would it take before he or anyone changed an allergy and noticed, do I really need the time I changed that. The date is quite enough. And, if you write for a med that is an allergy, it should turn red, blink, make a very loud noise, etc. But, when it is just sitting there, red is overkill. With the type of font it is along with the red, it is very hard to read. I know it's nit picky, but it is these little details that make it just that much better.

Any resolution on the double-entry TDaP issue? Was this reported and responded to?

Reported 8/2. Reply on 8/3.

The immunization duplication is a known issue. Certain component vaccines will display showing that both were given when just one was specifically done. However if you check off the show brand names box on the summary sheet it will show only the individual shots given but removing one will remove both. Our development team is aware of the issue and we hope to have it cleared up in a future version release.

My guess is they will add the fix in the next version.
