We are located in Texas and when a Nurse Practitioner writes a prescription the supervising M.D. name has to be on the srcipt. We are able to print the script witht the N.P. name but how do we get the M.D. name on the script also>

I've had my NP write it in the sig line. 1 TID - supervising doc: A. Santos DO. We encourage her to e-prescribe everything. For written scripts, we bought some prescription blanks with all her info and mine pre-printed on them.

There are a few ways. But, the easiest and safest, would be to set your practice up so it is:

Name of practice
then Name of doctor in Street 1
Street in Street 2
etc.

then you will have at the top of your letterhead and scripts:

TEXAS FAMILY PRACTICE
John Smith, M.D.
123 Dallas Lane
Dallas TX 33333
999-999-9999 * 999-999-9999

I am a solo FNP practice, how I did this was just as Bert said except I put mine next to my name. Just type more in the line than the address. smile Until this last upgrade we had the EIN number there too but with eprescribing it would no longer work. smile

I tried it this way but when I do this is what shows up

line 1 name of clinic
line 2 adress
line 3 city
line 4 phone number

For some reason the MD name will not show up.

Inside the setup tab the second address line is not red therefore its not required so is that why its not showing up.

All I can say is, you must be doing something wrong as it works every time for me.

You have the name of the clinic
Street address 1 (in red) Name of Doctor
Street address 2 (no color) Street Address
City, State Zip Code
Phone numbers

These are free text, so I don't see how they would be WYSIWYG.

Whether you wrote 123 Apple Lane or 77777yyyyy99999
