Does anyone know how to program proactive reminders? Some wayto, for example, identify and send a reminder when a child passes the age for a vaccine and does not have it recorded?

Couple of ways:

You can set up the practice management to remind you, although this can get bothersome.

You can do searches for children that fall into specific age catagories (20 months not seen in 5 months).

You can set a reminder to pop up after the next visit.

You can become very aggressive about missed appointments and making sure that anyone leaving has a new appointment so that if they do not show you know it and thus no missing shots.

There are probably more but I am not coming up with them at this time

I agree with Wendell especially number 3.

When your staff sets up the next six month old visit for a baby seen at four months, set a reminder for one to two weeks prior. Have the reminder go to one of your staff, so you don't even have to think about it. Or as Wendell stated, have it pop up after the scheduled visit.

We know how to do that. We want to capture immunizations needed for patients we may have seen only once for acute care etc. We want to have reminders pop up when AC opens rather than have mailboxes chock full. Actually, what we want is to have systrem that we don't have to create reminders for but just create rules that will generate remindeers.
