I've been very happy with Updox thus far in the 1 month that I have been using the program. The secure portal email system has been working fine to send copies of labs, orders, etc. to patients. I think just having a secure emailing system is a great benefit with this system.

My question/comment is that when putting scanned items or faxed/printed items into Amazing Charts from Updox, I have more categories with Updox. I've noticed that Updox has the extra categories to file into Amazing Charts as 'Hospital', 'Incoming Correspondence', 'Pharmacy', and 'Progress Notes'. I've been saving med denials, prior auths, etc. in the 'Pharmacy' tab on Updox which puts it in a file in the Imported Items in Amazing Charts as Pharmacy. If I try to scan an item in from Amazing Charts directly, however, these above noted categories are not available. Is there a way to change this within Amazing Charts to add these categories? Nothing major -- but just curious as to why the two don't match up. Thanks for anyone's help or input.

Actually, I think it IS something major. We are getting started with Updox, and we are happy, as well. The limited number of folders in "Imported Items" is a significant issue for us. Clearly, Updox has found a way to deal with it, at least to some limited degree. Hopefully, AC will deal with it as well. At the ACUC, Jon Bertman indicated that it was "something they were aware of that needed work".

Jeez, ya think somebody in AC could just make a phone call to the guys at Updox and find out how they added more categories?

While they are working on that, please fix the folders in the Imported Items so they stay closed when clicked.

You can make a new category patient by patient in AC/imported items, but I agree that it is really a hassle, and the UpDox list is a whole lot better. I would like to be able to make a customized list so I could import into "endoscopy" or "holter monitor".
