We currently do billing from AC to EZCLAIM to Clearinghouse Medavant but it is generating a lot of errors and rejections. Any suggestions on what is the best route to go for billing? Thanks

We are thinking of going this route too. I'd appreciate any comments on this from others who have tried it.

Our office does this, We export AC data to EZclaim and then submit through GatewayEDI. There were a few glitches at first, but within a week or two we were running smooth. Now it works really well, and rejections are rare. The remits come back through the clearinghouse and we manually post into EZclaim. We then export the pt statements to a 3rd party who prints and mails them. I think it is a great system and relatively inexpensive.

We also export to EZclaims and use EClaims for EDI. They are great to work with, and we never, ever had problems with Eclaims! Reports are prompt and understandable. Their support team is excellent. I think I should get brownie points for this one!

Donna, There are some folks who seem to be having issues, possibly because of all the new gov't stuff like the NPI and a few other changes. You seemed so happy and like things were totally smooth. That's great. So have things stayed that way recently since these other folks have started to have export issues with EZ Claims and the other compliant packages? It would be so wonderful to have a nice easy smooth thing to use. Any added advice as to how and what you did to set it up that might be insightful to all of us? Your feedback would be greatly apperciated.... Thanks much. Paul

AC overwrites information into exisiting EZ accounts. EZ blames AC, AC doesn't fix it or confirm or deny it's their issue. It renders the system almost worthless because the time involved constantly updating demos and Dx codes in EZ that were alreasy there. We have to review demos every single time we bill out a patient as well as add the Dx codes. I can't understand why it wasn't fixed with the last update. It wasn't a problem until the update prior to 3.6.18

We use EZclaim and had no issues with Clearinghouse until the NPI update and we changed Clearinghouse. It was painful to get through all of the errors. It was conferencing with our clearinghouse, Navicure, and EZclaim and sometimes also Amazing Charts. I have to say that AC usually took responsibility and conferenced with EZclaim even when it was not their issue. There are lots of errors and problems with the AC import and we use the Simple Text file because the EZclaim file simply does not work. We have noted that when we make changes in Demographics, it does not occur in EZclaim, so we have to change it manually, including changes in insurance carrier. We have noted the name transposition in the insured area on EZclaim but it does not produce an error at the Clearinghouse nor denials of payment. I have noted that the ICD9 codes are not updated when they are updated in Amazing Charts prior to exporting to EZclaim creating a lot of potential errors. And the biggest problems have been that the Medicaid and their CMO's require certain codes for healthchecks that are unique to Georgia and it has been a challenge to be able to get this right. This is where the Navicure has been very helpful in finding solutions to the problems, i.e., they will call Medicaid and EZclaim to determine why the information transmitted is not received and what format Medicaid wants to receive it and if EZclaim cannot resolve the issue, Navicure will forward it in a manner that is acceptable. I highly recommend Navicure as a Clearinghouse. The other problem that is annoying with EZclaim is that there are so many default values that you cannot choose globally but need to choose per patient or per claim. It is time consuming.
On the positive note, it is a very flexible program and you can manipulate a lot of information without paying extra custom fees. I am willing to try something new and go with AC billing service. Has anyone tried this option? Sounds easy.

Are you still having issues exporting into EZclaim? I currently do it very smoothly but do not want to upgrade from 3.6.11 if it is going to cause headaches.
Thanks
