Meaningful use guidelines were released by CMS yesterday. I have not had a chance to review totally but, accding to the CMS site:
"Key changes in the final CMS rule include:
•Greater flexibility with respect to eligible professionals and hospitals in meeting and reporting certain objectives for demonstrating meaningful use. The final rule divides the objectives into a “core” group of required objectives and a “menu set” of procedures from which providers may choose any five to defer in 2011-2012. This gives providers latitude to pick their own path toward full EHR implementation and meaningful use."

Look here http://www.cms.gov/EHRIncentivePrograms/
and for quick rundown, here: http://healthcarereform.nejm.org/?p=3732
full 864 pages http://www.ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2010-17207_PI.pdf with the rules on page 656 and beyond.

At first glance, it would appear only minor changes need to be made to make AC qualify.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them
