Is there anyone who has MAs that can prescribe directly from Amazing Charts using ePrescribe?

Wow. I would not be able to survive if my MA couldn't call in scripts. Or do you just mean ePrescribing specifically. I don't see that much of a difference.

MA's can fill in Rxes but they cannot eprescribe from their screens. They could do it if they were logged in under the provider name.
I will not address the legality, since they can legally phone in Rxes under our name. I usually let them phone it in, I will update in the system

in nys i think they aren't even supposed to call them in. can't give injections (like a vaccination) only a nurse or above can.

If we are supposed to be moving towards e-prescribing for all rxs, this will really screw up the work flow. It seems more secure for MAs or RNs to be allowed to send in a rx thru this system than it is to have them call things in. At least with e-prescribing there is a "paper" trail. Plus it makes my MA jealous that I can just click a button and the rx is sent and she can't do it!

I agree as stated. Maybe I am just venting, but I would seriously think about going back to venting. I know an office where there are so many doctors and scripts that they start the day with a sheet for each pharmacy and write down the refills and prescriptions for each patient and then fax them in. Can you imagine a doctor spending his or her time sending all those?
When I am in a room and I get a message about a five year old whose mother spilled his amoxicillin or a patient who has been on a Z-pack but is still symptomatic (can they have another) or a tick bite -- sure call in Cefzil and get the tick for identification, these are all things I can do while I am seeing a patient. Yes, I review them after they are done, but this is reality.
