So the office computers are all about 5 years old now, and I bought refurbished models. Things are slowing down and rather than buy newer models I'm thinking about going with thin clients, or turning the existing computers into thin clients. Anybody else out there with experience with different thin client solutions?

I can't answer this question, but if you want to update, you can get 2.4-3.0 G Pentium 4s for about $100 a piece. I did this last year and was pleased. Most of the ones I bought (refurbed) had gigabit connectors and this made a bigger difference when I updated the routers. I run this as a peer to peer.
I am curious to the answer for your question tho.
