Hi all,

We are in the enviable position of having to spend some grant money on "equipt or software that will enhance the use of EMR".

Kind of a short time frame, have to have a list and quotes by 4-23. We will be adding scanners for 4 care teams; I'm thinking of twain compliant fujitsu's. And we need a really good/fast/robust laser printer; beyond that am open for ideas.

Anyone have favorite ways they have enhanced their use of AC that requires hardware or software solutions?

A dreamlist.....

Thanks,

One of those card scanners. I wish I could have justified one when I bought scanners for the clinics. And software on the front desk to stack the scanned card and insurance together.

If it will cover it I would subscribe (2 year option) to UPTODATE so you can use it on your EMR (version 5 has interface).

Tough dilemma to be in, lol.

Probably the best card scanners are the two below. They are actually the same thing. We used to use them. They have really gotten better in the past three years.

The Dymo Turbo 400 is a great way to print labels. Combine it with Amazing Labels, and you have a great way of print lab labels or addresses directly from AC. Only problem with our Amazing Labels is its free. But, you can pay me if you want.

Finally, if you write for Schedule II drugs, then the TSP800 is an awesome printer. It runs around $600, so there you go.

UpToDate is a great idea. The neat thing about it is over just the past three months, I have over 300 Category I CME.

Carolyn,

I am not sure what you are asking. Would love to help if possible.
