When we print a lab slip the patient ID # does NOT get pulled over onto that print out. It is great that insurance info does, but Quest labs requires something like 3 identifiers - name, DOB, and ID#. (I could have the details of the first two wrong - I just know that they NEED the ID #). Anyone use printed labs slips for Quest and what do you do.

Thanks.

I use the printed lab slips and quest takes them. I suggest if quest does not want your business you have plenty other options! Talk to their rep about this. Let us know how things go. I use the printed lab slips everytime and NEVER have a problem.

I like how you think! We don't have many other options here but I'll just send the slips down and see what happens.

Akbeth, you're using the lab orders form? I actually wish it placed the patient ID on it also. Really no reason why it shouldnt.

We usually send the labs down with Quest 360 and use the orders form to give the MA written, legible orders to input. But the bridge uses the ID, so she has to print out the demographics also. Big waste of paper.

I'm AKbeth's partner. The last week we have been sending down just the AC lab request sans demographics, and so far no blowback from the lab. We're still holding our breath, but so far, so good.

Sorry.. can't seem to modify the above post... but I meant "sans patient ID". We DO send the insurance ID just the way the lab form creates it.
