I am working towards partnership with a local established physician in my speciality.
Any suggestions on how to add 1ooo's of patient to AC. We both use same PM software medisoft.
Also, will it be possible to merge two practices later if he started using AC now? (currently he has paper charts)

You may be able to import the patient demographics from medisoft if you are using x link. (I do not use it and am not sure about this.) You should also be able to export in excel format from medisoft and import demographic data.

THEORETICALLY, you might be able to sync the two practices. HOWEVER, it might not work if they have different practice names, and because they will have different names for the same patient numbers it will probably NOT WORK. I understand there may be a way to manually do this (merging databases) but that is much more involved.

If you two are close in time to merging, perhaps he can wait and simply start using your AC. If you are a distance out... the answer becomes more questionable.

Later you can scan his old patient charts, but this takes a lot of time, especially with 1000's of charts.

I have done merging of two seperate databases, but it is not fun. It involved lots of backend sql queries and coding, but made it work.
