New user here...does anyone know how to change the name of an encounter after it has been saved to the past encounters tab? Specifically, I would like to rename "result addendum" with the actual name of the lab that is resulted (I see you can change this when you are saving the actual addendum) but also to change the visit from the CC to a more relevant term.

No, one a note is closed, it is fixed. Adding an addendum is a sclose as you can come

The best workaround for the relevant term issue which I have complained about in the past is to do the following:

Whether it is your MA or you who enters the chief complaint, put it in the first line of your HPI box. Maybe make it all caps so it stands out from the HPI.

Then after you make your diagnosis such as Bronchitis, before you save the chart, write the diagnosis "Bronchitis" in the CC field. It's an extra step, but then you end up having:

10/10/2009 Bronchitis
11/04/2009 Sinusitis

Makes it much easier to not only go back and find the note, but you can also quickly see there have been five OMs in three months.

You'll find AC to be the best EMR out there, but it's all about the workarounds. smile
