Hi all sorry to get into the beta game a little late but wondered if you had any ideas on the following things.

1) is there a way to update your hm rules, adding new orders, pt education materials (ie add more things to your dm screening in hm) on your test server then migrate it when you actually update your real server- is there a file from the back up you can cut and paste for these things- just dont want to add all of this, patient education material etc after we go liver
2) any word on when the non-beta version to be released I see several users are just using the beta- - just a little leery of that.
3) anyone know if when you are looking at orders in the past encounters tab of the patient chart if you can shrink the sizes of the fields permanently so you can see all of the fields?
4) in the order screen how does the "reconcile this order to imported result" work on the orders page.
5) has anyone figured out a quicker way to document a completed order- just seems tedious to have to send it back to provider to save in the bottom of the last encounter or send it back to self- to save as an addendum- any ideas

thanks the 1st and 5th questions seem most pressing if any help would appreciate

0) you are not late, beta has been out about a month and should really only be used live by those very comfortable with working with their system. Otherwise, you should wait.

1) the key is that you will find things that you use off line testing but those of us who are comfortable have gone live. You CANNOT as far as I know, update some things that are not available in V4 on a test system, for your permanent system. You have to either have confidence it is worthy of going live now or wait. Beta is NOT for everyone

2) When a majority of the bugs are worked out. Jon does not rush things, might be in a month, might be in 3 months. There are still some bugs and they are working on them. This is a work in progress.

3) I do not think this is possible, If someone knows otherwise please chime in.

4) Don't know.

5) Just started to play with this feature, can't comment at this time.

Everyone is not suited to beta TESTING. I am, but I have been using AC for 9 years now. I am comfortable with the entire system and accept responsibility when things go wrong.

There are a lot new things in V5, I have been adding them sequentially. The primary reason I switched was eprescribing, but the others are also important to me. I work with one "module" at a time.

I did play with it for several weeks before I was comfortable with going live.

I have 2 offices and only went live in one.

I agree - beta testing is not for everyone. Version 5 is pretty stable and e prescribing is great.

Until you feel comfortable I would not do it - watch the videos, play with version 5 offline- I took version 4 and put it on my laptop - moved over backup copy of data (from AC backup) and restored - got it working and then upgraded to version 5 on that laptop. Played with it for a while before I took the plunge and even then there were some quirks and since I have Windows 2000, XP Home and Pro, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 7 it did some take some tweaking to get them all loaded (but they do all work).

I have been using the beta live for as long as he had it available and it does work good now. One or 2 more bug fixes and he will probably deliver a "release candidate" or something and then everyone should take the plunge, but just keep watching and learning - I know Tech Support is working on a "Users Guide" and has been developing some different "chapters" with screenshots and instructions (only a few so far), but will continue to get better.
