i started using ac off site back up service a few weeks ago (in addition to amazing backup to external hard drive). Is there any way to get positive or negative confirmation that the off site backup is occurring everyday accurately?

I don't believe so. You could always contact support and see if they can find your backup files to make sure it is working for the moment. I would think if it did not work correctly you would have an error message on the main computer (with the database) the following morning, but I am not sure.

seems like putting a lot of faith in something that important happening daily. i used mozy backup and it worked flawlessly every day for 9 months. Then one day i checked the server ( in a spare office and i hardly looked at it ) and saw a warning that no backups were made for the past 34 days. after my nausea passed and got backups occurring again, i now make a habit of checking at least once a week. With Mozy there is feedback after every successful or unsuccessful backup.
i also use cobian backup to an external harddrive, once again a backup history can be checked easily.
i think AC developing something like this would be reassuring to off site backup users.

I believe if you go to advanced options on Amazing Charts Backup you can choose send confirmation to a USER. This will generate an e-mail in your AC inbox that tells you if it is working - I am out of the office - you could try using AC Backup with only offsite and see what the e-mail says. You can set this to do daily and an e-mail will always be in your inbox in the morning.
I don't use offsite under AC, but it does advise me of the other places I have it set for. Give it a try and see if that gives you the information you are looking for.

I logged into my office and did a test offsite backup - if you go into advanced options and set it to send confirmation it will advise you that it did the backup and give you times, etc. This does not guarantee you have a copy which 100% works, but you certainly could contact Guardian Angel and verify it.
It does tell you the size, when done, etc. You also can set it to save a copy to a flash drive, NAS, etc.
