Today I aimed at Nexium in a patient's list and clicked refill before I realized I had hit Magnesium (the next one up the list) by mistake. Once it's in the print queue, it's updated in the list as refilled.

I wish there was a "cancel" button next to the print and preview buttons.

You know when you are trying to be efficient and doing something routine like placing a refill, it's easy to make a few clicks in rapid succession with barely any thought, so that kind of mistake is pretty easy to make.

Another of those 'careful what you wish for' things. I was really annoyed by this, as I wanted to use the accurate record to audit refills. But if the record isn't accurate.... So the work around is IF you make a mistake, go back and order the RX AGAIN, but with 0 number of pills and blank refills. Then the NEXT time you think of filling it, you will know the LAST time it was written, it wasn't really written. ALSO write in the note that day, or as an Addendum when you discover the error, exactly what happened. (IE: Addendum Refills. The refill of Tagamet on 12-21-09 was an error, no script was written, the last Rx written was on 10-11-09.")

What is the alternative? Allow it to be erased, and you will have NO record of who has written an RX for what when you are away from the computer.

Not perfect but it works pretty darn good the way it is.

what I had in mind, was that you can cancel the script prior to printing. Once it is printed, FAX'd, or saved, I agree it should not be cancel-able.

VERSION 5 - you can make a scrip and finalize - before you hit print/fax/send you can remove it from the queue and cancel.
