Hello everyone,
What do you guys think about Website for the practice? I mean it is a certainly "way to go" but AC does not offer any functionality with website. Any info on a future version? I am talking about very basic website: info on practice, latest news, forms, policies, basic portal for the pts. Could you please recommend some web designer? I came across one guy, I looked at his websites and I liked them, almost signed up with him, but then I found out that he embeds some hidden keywords in his client's websites to drive traffic to his own website where he sells some computer programs. He actually bragged to me about it. Thank you.

You've ask a bunch of unrelated questions.
Websites are good way to both educate your patients as well as give them access to forms and such. When you add forms and portals, that is NOT basic. Giving them hours, practice info and background info on providers is, in my mind, sufficient.
A portal to your electronic chart brings all sorts of requirements for security. It is much easier not to have it compared to the information you gain. I would not want the risk that they could jump the firewall and have access to my data. I have no knowledge of AC planning on adding it into a future version, but then..
You need to decide what you want in a website first. There are a lot of web designers and programs to design your own. It's not bad that he drives his own business if you gain from the revenue or he designs your site inexpensively. Quid pro quo.

In this day and age, all private practices should have at least a basic website. All of them. Basic ones aren't terribly hard to make--some companies will provide you one with 4 or 5 pages for free.

I have no website. I do not feel I need one or that my patients are lacking. Maybe one day when the government adds that to the list of hoops I have to jump through...

I was actually debating that last night. Got on the net and looked around at doing it myself. Some great programs online to do a "basic" website. I don't want the return on investment would be. I guess it depends on how much you spend and how elaborate you get. We all definitely go to the web first to look up things so I'll probably bite the bullet.

Yahoo hosts a web building program which is cheap and easy to use. Nothing fancy.
