Are we talking Vicodin. Because you couldn't fax oxycodone. And, our pharmacies require a hand written signature for faxing any narcotics.
Plus, the next comment by Dr. Murdoch stated, the script should have the same date of when it was done. I don't use that EMR and I don't quite understanding printing from a note, but that would seem backwards.
When I have Concerta in the script writer and it was filled last month and I have to print it today, I want the date to say today's date, and I am not going to type it in again. That's the beauty of the EMR. You tend to not make mistakes, because it is the exact same script that worked last time as far as how it was written, etc.
