Under admin section there is a section called tracked data. How is this data tracked and what/how can this be used? I have not figured out what this is for and how or if this can keep track of automated labs/values on my patients. Thanks for the input!

I believe it will track "granular data" which can come in from a lab connection. I don't have that and thus don't use it.

It might be nice to use with in house labs but I have not figured out how that can be done.

I think I am correct when I say this was an early attempt by Jon to provide some ability to have data to "track" but it is entirely manual. (you enter the HgbA1C or Creatinine or whatever you are concerned about) and then you have one place to look for it and some limited ability to print graphs etc. It is not very helpful and Jon has plans to revamp it entirely when this whole Ver5 and Ver 6 thing is behind us. I don't know if it will be moot as CCHIT and HLA-7 may move us to the time where you will be able to graph all your labs. The improvement may come sooner rather than later.

What Martin just said. Also, under the admin section you can change the "default" choices for the tracked data and customize it to what things you want to track. When you are in a pt's chart on the summary page, you can add your tracked items and when you click on the name of test to add, you will get a drop down menu with all the choices you just put into the admin section (or you can just free text it but having the same test title should make it easier to track/search the info later). Hope that wasn't too confusing but it is the end of the day and it was a hectic one!
