Is anyone using Windows 7 with AC yet? Are there any problems? Microsoft will attempt to stop selling downgrades soon and I would like to skip Vista with new PCs now.

I am using it on VM, and it's a lot better than Vista, but I just can't make the switch yet. I am sure I will down the road. I think someone who has used Vista for awhile will have a big advantage and will be able to see the improvements.
Personally, I hate the networking windows, etc. I can't figure them out. They are a bit dumbed down. Can't tell if I should sit on the park bench or not.

Thanks, if it's running okay in a VM then I probably don't have to wait till the first service pack... as long as I stick to the default hardware.

I have used it on a test machine for some time without any issues. I have not tried to use in in a live environment. I have connected from between two different machines at home, using it as a "server" without issues.

I use it with one of the Physicians in the practice since she started new and had a great hardware on her desktop, just did not want to downgrade her to XP, and I hate Vista.
Win 7 is great and AC seems to be working fine.
We have some issues with some websites ( local hospitals use Aventail VPN) that the physicians have to use to check on labs and patients logs in the hospital. These hospitals website dont support IE8.

We are using it on a couple of our machines. Only problem so far is sometimes when nurses are typing to send message cursor will jump to a different part of the message. Rest of program works well.

Steve, are these laptops? I had that problem recently with a laptop that is running wireless. I thought it was related to using a wireless connection and remote desktop. Maybe it's just AC. Thanks for the responses guys.

Ben, Yes these are laptops running on wireless thru my Airport wireless hub. My non-seven laptops don't have this problem.

Amazing Charts is testing the upcoming Version 5 in Windows 7 platforms. We are working to be sure it will be fully compatible.

Nice to see tech support on the UB. I wish you folks could chime in more often.

Windows 7 is going to be a major nightmare for those of us running XP. I just saw a video by Tom Merrit on cnet about this.
To make a long story short, there is no upgrade path between Windows XP and Windows 7. Microsoft expects you to do a "clean install" which means you basically erase your hard drive and start over. You will need all the installation files or CD's and all those pesky license codes for the dozens of programs you have on your pc.
I hope that amazing charts will run in a mixed XP and Windows 7 enviroment.
I don't mind buying new computers with Windows 7 but really don't want to convert all my old ones.

I began using Windows 7 Professional on my own office (AC client) computer as soon as it was released, since I was having so many problems with Vista. AC 4.073 was crashing frequently when I was reviewing or signing off Imported Items. I was told this was due to a conflict with Acrobat Reader 9, but I always suspected it was Vista, since on other computers running XP, AC was not crashing. The crashes have stopped after the Win 7 upgrade.
I went on to upgrade the "main computer" with the AC databases a few days ago, with no problems so far. As KenP reports, I had to reinstall everything, since it was upgraded from Win XP. I backed all my files & folders on an external HD, and reinstalled AC after Win 7 was installed, and recreated all the records by using "Restore" in the AC folder, and the latest .enc file created by Amazing Backup before the upgrade. It took all day.
Setting up sharing for the AC databases is more challenging than on XP, but I was able to slog through using the help files. This is better than I did with Vista, which I could never get to share files reliably.
In the last few days, I haven't had any problems with the Win 7 "main computer"; most of the office client computers are still running Windows XP, and can log onto the Win 7 computer without a problem.
One extra for Windows 7 Pro that may be useful is the new Windows Backup. It is possible to do a scheduled back up to either an internal or external HD connected to the computer, or a networked storage drive (NAS). It will backup the User account files & folders AND also create an image file of the whole system drive. I am hoping this will be extra assurance, since it should be possible to restore the whole system and all files to a new HD in case of a catastrophic HD failure.

We have been using Win 7 for almost 3 months now and agree that it is very stable compared to Vista. We have some old machines that we need to replace, so waiting on new machines to get Win 7 like that.
