Our clinic director wants to be able periodically to determine how many new patients have been added since a certain specified date. -Is there a way to do this within Amazing Charts? or -Is it necessary to write a separate application to query the database? -If so, surely someone has already done this?
Help, please. TIA Ted Bryant

Can you query a SQL database if you don't have the sa username and password?
I have one way, but you will have to figure out the script or way to sort it. If you go to admin and export patient demographics, it will be saved as an Excel file. It says .csv, but it is formatted as Excel. You should find the "Date Added" in the AS column. Unfortuanately, at least for the Excel newbie, I couldn't find a way to sort it by date. But, if you can, you would then be able to do what your boss is looking for. HTH.

Well sorting in Excel should be easy. select the column that has date and hit on that A|Z sorting button. It will ask you if should expand the selection, click yes and you should have the added dates.
As Bert says there are other ways in SQL but makes it difficult until you know how to get in

Thanks, Bert, we'll give that a try. I'm familiar with Excel's sorting capability.

If you figure it out, let me know. I came close on the dates, but unfortunately it was sorting 1/12/2007 then 1/12/2006 then 1/13/2005. It's much easier with letters. But, there must be a way.

When trying to export patient demographics, Amazing Charts quits responding (according to the WinXP Task Manager) Seems to do this when attempting any export function. A/C version 4.0.73.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

How many patients. How much time are you waiting?

I only have 1800 patients and have waited 3 minutes. It will always say AC is not working in Task Manager. Look under processes. I have never had an issue with this. I do hear everyone, though, so maybe too many patients is tough.
But, try waiting as long as you can move your mouse.

Our clinic has about 4300 patient records of which about 1100 are active.
While trying the "export patient demographics", I've waited up to 20 minutes (on a 2.8 gHz server). I have also seen an "application not responding" message in the top border of the admin screen. The Task Manager should say "running" instead of "not responding". The "Processes" tab only shows cpu load and memory allocation to an application.
I have installed Amazing Charts on a different standalone computer and loaded the same database on it. Attempting to export the demographics on it gives the same results. As a matter of fact, none of the export functions are working.
May be time to call Amazing Charts for help.
