I have been trying to reduce paper in the office by receiving faxes as PDFs, and moving them into the Imported Items on the appropriate patient.

Every once in a while, I receive a duplicate report, and delete the extra copy from the list under that patient's Imported Items (right-click, and choose "Delete Item"). However, when I check that patient's file in the Amazing Charts/Imported Items folder on the main computer, the deleted file is still there (labeled something like 00000004.pdf).

It seems that deleting the file from within AC doesn't really remove the file from the main computer, just the link within the patient's AC chart.

At the rate that my Imported Items folder is growing, it would be nice to get rid of unneeded files. Especially since you have to click on two dialog boxes to delete. Yes, I really meant to delete that file -- including on the main computer!

John,
See a previous discussion on this from this past November... not sure if this link to it will work, but ... http://www.amazingcharts.com/ub/ubb...ying_to_delete_imported_i#Post11316items)

In summary, we found that choosing to delete the imported item doesn't remove the actual actual file from the patient's imported items FOLDER if that item is being "previewed" in the imported items page of AmazingCharts, but if another (or no) item is previewed, it does delete it.

Besides saving space on the drive/folder, I think it is important to really delete these files for items that were imported in error (wrong patient)... that way, if ever the patient needed their records, there won't be any chance of them getting info that didn't belong in their chart.
