Hello, has anyone tried to fax lab's directly from the lab interface? It has come to my attention that the abnormal labs, which are marked in yellow, print out illegibly at the consultant's office. Is there a known work around for this?

I'm going to experiment with lightening the text, but of course it has to remain legible and abnormal labs need to continue to be marked uniquely.

I'm going to try this again. Have any of you had any trouble with faxing abnormal imported labs directly from your pc?

It works fine for some fax machines, but not Childrens.

Send the Lab result to OCR (drop image, pdf etc... onto the "notepad" or "wordpad" icon on the bottom of the Paperport screen.

You will have the text with a bunch of swuiggles and squares after it.
Delete the extra characters, check the values for accuracy, and you now have a nice text document that will fax clearly

Great idea! unfortunately the character recognition wasn't accurate enough for me.

I first tried to get around the problem by printing out the pages at high contrast then faxing them, that was awkward. But it was enough to change the Brother PC-to-Fax preferences to 200 x 100 instead of the standard 200 x 200. Which should fax faster anyway.

Well if this ever comes up again, there is the answer.
